What's a good wallet?
on: March 02, 2009, 07:25:13 PM
I just can't seem to find a good wallet these days. Looking for maybe a bi fold or tri fold that doesn't stick up to far in you back pocket or feels like you're sitting on a golf ball.
Maxpedition maybe?     any suggestions from the masses?

I got the international version.  I know they only have a finite lifetime but I was less than impressed with mine.  The fabric doesn't hold multiple cards in very well, they can slip out far too easily and it began to fall apart after around a year :(

They are thin though.

I've never bought a wallet that I haven't held first.  For me it's got to be leather, bi fold, two note compartments, room for a few cards, and that's it.  No coin section, no ID holder, nothing that adds to the thickness.

Above all though it has to feel good in you hands.  Just think how many time you handle your wallet every week     (:twak: stop it, you filthy people) It should be a pleasurable, tactile experience every time.....errr  I'm going to shut up now I think... ;)

My wallet is one that is similar to a checkbook holder for size :) it folds but the money itself never gets folded :tu: I can carry a lot more in it than a normal wallet because it spread the stuff out a bit more :tu: Don't know the brand though sorry :( but that is the size wallet for me :D

I got one of Bill's Urban Wallets some time ago and I totally love it. Superb craftmanship, top quality materials, and the ergonomics... What can I say... I'd surely suggest anyone who's into EDCing blades and/or MTs to have a look at them.

Mine's a Lifeventure, cost about £6, made of nylon. Very thin and the best wallet i've ever owned.
I had a look at their website but the current crop of wallets seem a lot thicker  >:(

Look at this site http://www.all-ett.com/I have never had one but thought they looked like a good idea.

I've just received the cheapest of their products.
It came in no time, with a 10% discount coupon for the next buy, and the only flaw is a creepy crispy sound. It's like putting my cards in a bag of fried potatoes.
It seems strong, after all, but I'll tell in a couple of weeks.
At the present, it cut in two the depth of my wallet. I left out only two coins, a key and a date bone (feel free to ask, if you dare and are openminded).
At the present I must thank for the advice.

these the pics: before and after, same amount of cards, bills, toolcards and docs.

You should check out the Money Clamp, it looks pretty cool and thin enough to fit in your front pocket or shirt pocket.  I have been carrying a similar front pocket wallet from Wilson Leather, but it uses a magnetic money clip and it is very powerful.  I am tired of sticking to everything metal if I put it in my pocket the wrong way.  But it is a very thin wallet.

Have had my Spec ops THE jr. Now for 2 years, and this thing rocks. I am very hard on them and rarely get 1 year out of one. Since I work in dirt all day long it gets into the damnest places, but the Spec op takes it in stride.

Hey Pacu, I have around 30 wallets and one of my thinnest is the nike gulf. Also front pocket wallets are small and well made. Ralph Lorain is one brand I realy like and you can usualy find a good deal on them at marshals or tjmax. They also carry brands like Nautica ,Tommy Hillfigure, Nike, Wenger, Penguin to name a few. They sell for between 14.49-19.89. I also like Lacoasta but this is a bulkier wallet. Happy shopping. :D
