Ranger 58 with teeth!
on: March 08, 2009, 05:21:38 AM
Well after two evenings of hard work, my ranger 58 now have complete set of new teef!  :D (teef, not teeth because it wasn't as good as I would've liked).

P.s. for those of you who don't know what teef is, it's when people have no front tooth so when they say "teeth" air leaks out and sounds like "teef".

Dremel with grinding stone. Metal file simply will not cut blade steel, even the swiss made file American Lockpicker sent me goes dull after a few cuts.

The biggest problem is nothing cuts fast enough and each tooth take a long time to make, so I end up slipping due to hands getting tired and mess stuff up. If I had a way of cutting each groove under say 30 seconds it would've been a lot easier and more precise.

You haven't seen the other side where the grooves are, which is a complete mess.  :P Teeth spacing and depth is also quite uneven if you look closely. I keep thinking if I had a carbide cutter or coarse diamond bit it would've gone better.

Well I'm a perfectionist so I hear where you're coming from but it still looks nice

Have you tried using a round diamond file?

I've never seen diamond file in the size I wanted. Did try a diamond bit for dremel thou but it didn't cut any quicker than the chainsaw sharpening stone I was using.
