@ Nhoj : Welcome to the club, but beware, the Spirit is pretty addictive ...

Since I got my first one (a few years ago) it has become my favorite EDC tool, and my other tools always seem to draw the short straw  ::).

P.S. Nice pics  :tu:.

Since I started getting into SAKs and multi-tools around this time last year, I have not found the Spirit S on very many online retailers for the U.S. at all. However, they pop up on eBay with some frequency... Just got one two weeks ago, buy it now for $50, which is a steal for any Spirit. Shouldn't be too difficult to find, even if they do seem discontinued.

As for the other (stainless steel) models, I think those are still readily available.

Posted from my mobile.

May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

Welcome to the club Nhoj   The Spirit is a sweet MT indeed.  Everytime I see pics on here, I wish I had mine on me to stare at and/or fiddle with.  That's the problem with my rotational schedule.  Each MT gets its own week of love, but there are several weeks in between when that specific one gets carried again.

Any more info on the Spirit not being sold in the US anymore?

(Felinevet Tim had some listed about two weeks ago)

It took them quite some time to reply but I got this e-mail last week. I didn't post it earlier 'cause they didn't actually answer my questions but since you asked here goes. My questions were:

a) Why has the Spirit S (the one with both a serrated and a plain edge knife blade) been discontinued in N.America and is it going to be discontinued in Europe as well?

b) Are they planning on putting a wharncliff type serrated knife blade on the Spirit like on the Swisstool?

c) Is the Pioneer line being discontinued step-by-step? Also, most of my Pioneer awls are lightly stratching the main blade, could this cause damage to the tool other than some scratches eventually?

Here's their reply:

Thank you very much for your e-mail and for your interest in our products. We are very sorry for our late response. We are pleased to answer your questions.

SwissTool Spirit

According to our information, the SwissTool Spirit is not discontinued in North America and it will not be discontinued in Europe.

Suggestion for a new SwissTool Spirit

Victorinox receives many e-mails, letter and phone calls from all over the world every week regarding new features and products. Therefore, we have established a catalogue for product innovations.

We are glad to inform you that we have added your suggestions to this collection and have forwarded your idea to our product management team.

 Pioneer range

We are glad to hear that you are happy with our Pioneer range.

If the awl is scratching the blade that does not affect the function of your Pioneer. But however, if your are not satisfied with it, you can of course send your tool to our representative for quality control and repair.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

 Kind regards,

Hey Monrogue! So it does and I don't know if I can blame my syntax for that. I know I can be a little tiring on written speech with my lengthy phrases but I try my best to be precise in order to avoid misinterpretations. The fact that they avoided answering two questions makes me think that a) they replied to my e-mail hastily, not attentively enough and b) maybe the Alox line is doomed to extinction. Oh, well: "Que sera, sera" as they say. Cheers

No I don't think it was your wording.  I think it's more along the lines of a hastily written response as they didn't seem to notice that you were asking about the Spirit S, not the Spirit in general.

I want to thank all the enablers supporters on this fine forum as I have finally got a Spirit CS Plus no less.  mine is used but very lightly and with the outstanding quality of Vic its in excellent shape.  it will make its way in my off day carry and displace several tools currently holding that place.  what a fine specimen she is with her sleek body and curves ladies and gentlemen of MTo let me introduce my Spirit as entry into this club.

I am mesmerized for sure.  this slender little brother of the swisstool is quite lovely.  I had to find a quick method to carry it today so I could enjoy this tool today.

I was thinking the very same thing today.  I was off and I wanted to carry the spirit needless to say and give her a little work out.  my usual day revolves around work so the swisstool is great in that role; heavy duty, big, and as Ive mentioned I really prefer the blunt(ish) pliers.
this tool came to me by way of a snipe after I lost an auction for a pinchy.   this tool is pretty awesome for me as an off day carry because ive mentioned while I don't mind having several things on me I like to go thinner if possible and this fits the bill.  im still not a fan of the scissors.

I cut up a box my little vac came in,  I tightened up screw on a little tailgate grill, I cut open the glaze on the cinnamon rolls im having later, I adjusted a small screw on a window crank, I opened a can and all tools with the exception of the scissors performed wonderfully.  to scissors seems to get bound up possibly because they don't open enough ( I don't know ).

which do I like more?
monrogue how can I answer of the 3 kids I have which one do I like best?  hahaha  I love them all and I love them both.
