:D  My Fatboy is hands down the best man purse I have ever owned, and I have carried everything from a Timbuk II El Ocho to a US issue Vietnam era canvas backpack. The Timbuk II was also fantastic, but I was riding a bike every day and everywhere back then. The Versipack series are the best fit for off bike daily life.

Well, whats going to go in it  :pok: :pok: :pok: :pok:  ;)

well its funnt you say that, it will be a work in progressfor a while to find what will work out the best for me.  But i will be putting in a basic first aid kit  you know bandages and asprin and those type items.  I will be putting in some diapers (i've still got one kiddie in them, and i seriously cant wait till she out of them too!) and wipes.  I think the wipes will be a more permeant item.  they are damn handy for just about anything you might need.  It came with a flash light case that i have attached to the front and have already found a mini mag light to put in there.  I need to get hte nite ize led upgrade for it.  other then those items its ganna change between week day and week end carry.  but like i said, it will bea work in progress for a while.  i'll report back with what i have in there.

oh btw  i got it in orange foliage.  i figured i would stand out a little from black and tan....

Oooo... you went with the new orange one... nice!  :o

That jumbo is too big for me, but if you are used to an even bigger bag than that, then I would say you will be more than happy.

I recently found a solution to my problem of filling whatever size bag I carry, and yet maintaining some way to manage with items I may pick up during the day:

http://baggubag.com/

I got the "caper" color, which is sort of a light olive drab. I would have gotten "Mud" or "Rust" or basic black if they'd had them in stock when I found them. The thing folds up into a remarkably small and thin packet, and has it's own fabric envelope to slip into. Tough, nicely stitched, rather plain (which is good in my book), and it holds quite a lot. So I just toss that into the Fatboy, and voila! I have a large amount of carrying capacity on hand that weighs nearly nothing, takes up almost no space in the Versipack at all, and looks when loaded up and carried like a bagful of groceries.

On the site they appear as though they have some shape to them that would have them looking like a tote bag, but the ripstop fabric is so light that they really are just a sack with a handle like your common variety thin plastic shopping bag.

So when my daughter comes home from a visit with Grandma, out comes the Baggu to hold and carry all the bits and pieces and toys and snacks and so on that  child gets from her Grandmother..

When I go to the grocery to pick up for the wife (I try to be green on occasion, and those plastic bags are worthless)..

When I want to out load some of the items from the Fatboy and leave them behind in the Baguu, taking only the truly essential in my Versipack..

When I have odds and ends from the office to bring home (recently I put in two large file folders, several computer cables, a AA battery charger, and a stack of papers an inch thick)..

So as long as you are outfitting your new bag, and because you mentioned having kids, I suggest picking one of these up to match your bag. Now you will have all the capacity you are used to, but only when you need it.  :tu:

Just a note as to your flashlight.  Having tried both the Nite-ize and the Terralux drop-ins, the Terralux wins hands down.  http://www.terraluxcorp.com/products/MiniStar2Extreme.php?PHPSESSID=319af2815c1dbc97509d1eb10ba72364 .  It may be slightly more expensive but the difference in light is astonishing, much brighter and very white.  The Nite-ize is noticeably bluer by comparison.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

No doubt they are better than the standard bulb.  To be fair the Nite-ize I have is several years old now so there is a good chance they have made it much better than mine.

If you change your mind then this is where I got my Terralux; http://www.lighthound.com/TerraLUX-MiniStar2-EXTREME-40TLE-5EX41-LED-replacement-bulb-for-MiniMagLite-Flashlight_p_2143.html .  No connection other than a happy customer etc.

Looking forward to the pics BTW.  :D

well after having it for the week thus far, i love this bag.  i have had to really down size what my edc for work is.  i have gone from basically dragging in 4 seperate tool kits to 1, small (and i mean small) kit.  i have left my edc work tool pouch at work which makes up for a lot of it. i will try to get pics up this weekend of what i edc to wor and how the bag is currently organized.  i think i will be emailing maxped and recommending that one of the pockets (the one that is the smaller side pocket) be swaped out for there 10x4 bottle holder they offer.  that would make this bag perfect for me.  i say that because of having two young kids and needing to bring along their drinks.  currently one of their cups has to go inside and i would rather have it accessable on the out side.  not really a big issue, just a nit-picky thing for me.

any ways gents.  i need to go to bed, im half asleep as it is

I used to come here a lot.

thanks guys,  i was hopeig that the color would have been a little darker then it came out, but i cant complain.  and to think i almost went with the colosues over this.  i think this is a great size bag for a true edc bag.  i mean i can carry all that i really need to carr with me and still have room for those things i have to drag along when i'm with my kids(running errands, taking them to gym class, etc etc)

I have the Thermite Versipak, and I find that it's a little too small, I'm thinking about a Jumbo at the moment.

Yeah, that orange is hot.   :o  When I first saw pics of the new colors, that jumped right out at me. It's one of those things for me though... I think it looks awesome, but I wouldn't personally carry an orange bag. I don't know why.. I guess I am just kind of into subdued colors. I dig the red Vic bags for instance, but I just can't carry a red bag.  ???

Tinnie, how are you liking it so far? Digital camo definitely says, "This is not a purse. There is man stuff in here.. so step back."  :D

Now you guys (if so inclined) get to go about customizing a bit. Patches, different paracord pulls with cool pull ends... etc. Maybe tie a mojo of some kind on there somewhere.. like a Ti skull, or in my case a tiki god. That's the fun part.

My pal Helzer has orange bits he added to his:

He's got a reflective orange patch on the velcro, some orange paracord pulls, and some kind of pin on there. And an orange Sharpie.. Obviously he likes orange.   ;)

Mine is posted above in this thread of course.. Navy liberty cuff patch (Poseidon!), paracord pulls with black plastic ends, psuedo Marquesan tiki, etc.

Check out County Comm for cord ends in various colors.

And let's see some load out pics!

ACU is very cool....get a lot of looks as well :)

Would have loved to get the Tan/Foliage combo...that one looks nice, but it wasn't available when I ordered my one :(

I have some plans on pimping out my Jumbo...probably new zipper pulls, maybe an extra pouch and I some patch ideas ;)

Load out pictures are coming....but I need to gather some stuff to load it out :D

Oh by the way I 511 sells a Push Pack which is pretty similar to the Fatboy/Jumbo Versipack :)
