Well, Fenix finally did it.  They made a pocketable flashlight that puts out 2000 lumens on the highest setting and 1 lumen on the lowest setting, with some sensible options in between.

Generally, I won’t buy a new flashlight unless it is a significant improvement over my current carry light in at least one way.  I’m not sure that’s really the case for the Fenix PD35R ACE vs. my current carry Nitecore MH12 Pro.

But, I sort of feel like I should buy one anyway, because I’ve been complaining about Fenix not doing what they finally did.  $95 is kind of steep though.  I’ll have to ponder the matter further while I wait for the next 20% off coupon to land in my inbox.

Meanwhile, if anyone else picks one up, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on it.
