Hello from Fontana
on: May 27, 2009, 06:21:12 AM
Hello Everyone,

My name is Richard.  I have been a long time user of SAK's and some multi-tools.  Nothing too fancy.  I'm not really the type to carry one just to fit in or to impress people.  I actually use these things as a way to avoid carrying so many tools.  I'm an I.T. consultant and dabble in electronics so I don't really need anything heavy duty.

I'm looking for my first SOG Powerlock but it's difficult to find one that has the gear covers, piano locks and new pliers.  When I ask the online retailers what they have in stock, they don't really seem to know.  Well, I'll keep trying.

I've been lurking here for a while and decided to become a part of this community since all of you have answered many questions I've had (I've been doing a lot of searching).

I look forward to contributing.

Thanks cliosguy.  I might have to do that.  I just wanted to avoid the whole shipping back and forth.  Even to the point that I might get something else other than a SOG.  I cut a lot of small wire (CAT5, etc.) so I didn't think any of the other pliers would be able to cut it cleanly.

I'll give your suggestion a try.

Thanks.

In that case the new plier head design will suit you really good, it has a big wire cutter if not the biggest :tu: great for utp, coax, electrical wire, etc

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.  I'm glad to be here.

cliosguy, that's the exact reason I thought the Powerlock would suit me best.  I took a look at amazon.com and they have an S60 that even shows the piano locks in the pictures.  I wanted a BO version so we'll see what happens.
