Well Dave's lost a load of weight now (and he wasn't much more than bite-sized to start with) so I think that takes him out of the running as well. :(
 ;)

Who does that leave us with?

Neil says he's a veggie, does that mean the same as "corn fed"?

Ooh, maybe

Even better if he's free range too :D

I hear ya Rich... glad I don't drink too much these days and I get to wake up next the same strange woman every day :D

Shall we have a poll for who we should cannibalise then?

I don't really have a dog in this fight (sort to say), but I think y'all should follow Darwinian principles.

Survival of the fittest and all that...
Everyone else is doomed then >:D

Although it entertains me to think of flaying one of you and serving you up with a nice chianti, I take all submitted points about skinniness and toughness.

Pending a certificate to prove his free range status from Neil's wife, I was going to offer to cook a big cauldron of veggi stew for dinner. I'll be cooking anyway, I always cook far too much and I thought it may lighten the load for those of you travelling a fair distance and suffering the British public transport system. Besides a shared fire just isn't right without a massive pot of bubbling stew.  :D

So let me know if you would want feeding and if you have any allergies/intolerances/babyish dislikes. I'm happy and able to accommodate the most complicated of diets! Feel free to PM  me if you don't want to broadcast your needs.

Anyone making sexist or "thanks mum" comments will be served as breakfast. I can knock up a smoke room and carve you into bacon in a matter of seconds.  >:D

So, any takers? No problem if not, as I say, I'll be cooking anyway.

Free food is good but if I'm the only vegetable don't fret,  I can bring plenty of my own nosh :tu:

OK, babyish dislikes.... sprouts, aubergine (unless fried), meat (including yucky fish), and mushrooms are a bit hit and miss.

  not overly keen on raspberries, can't be doing with semolina, rice pudding or bean curd.  Not that those are likely to be issues of contention :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Aw shucks, that's my raspberry, bean curd and sprout curry out then. *gag*

No problems there Neil, they're all easy to avoid.

Happy to post the recipe after the meet Mr Whippy but I kinda make it up as I go along so I'll try and remember what goes in it  :D

A firm favourite (with the person that cooks) on family camping holidays is tin stew. Add the following to a pan, heat, cover in chilli sauce and eat:
Tin of potatoes
Tin of tomatoes
Tin of tuna
Tin of green beans
Tin of peas (only so you can enjoy the neon green they dye them - always entertains the kids and horrifys the parents)
Any seasoning you have - mixed herbs or smurf loads of thyme

It's a good one for when you've been out all day, the kids are tired and you want to cut down on the time it takes to get the kids fed and into bed and a beer open. As soon as it's hot it's ready!

I feel the need to point out that other than tuna and tomatoes I wouldn't touch the rest with a barge pole the rest of the time!

As we've got the van and I'll have prep time on my hands, I'm sure I can provide something a bit better for the meet up though  :D

I gotta say, as camp food, that does sound just about perfect. A lot better than Mike and Ben's Pot Noodles anyway. :D

I'm not dissing your Pots of Noodley goodness, I have eaten many pots myself (before I grew up  :P) but you must not delude yourself that they contain anything other than dried worms, monosodium glutamate, synthetic flavourings and confetti/coloured gravel.

You are most welcome to eat your noodles and then follow them with a real food chaser  :D

As for noodles for breakfast - that's Son of Hedgekid's favourite brekkie. 9p chicken noodles with added chilli and soy sauces. So wrong but it makes him happy and by the size of him, it's not hurting him! For those who haven't witnessed his lankiness in the flesh - he's hugely tall but not very wide at all - like a normal boy that's been on the rack  :o
