WTB: Skeletool blade
on: July 25, 2010, 07:56:09 PM
I need a new blade for one of my Skeletools, preferably combo blade but plain is also fine (that's what's on both my new model CX and old model "normal" ST, so want to try to he combo).
Does anyone have one, or know where I can get one?

It's been sharpened a billion times, resulting in a broken tip etc. I could technically fix it, but getting a new blade would be best

Before even that, you should try shooting ofg an e-mail to Leatherman's warranty department with a picture of the blade tip, and see if they'll cover it.  If they don't, you're not out shipping charges.  If they do, print it out and send it in with tool and you should be golden.

Think I managed to make it pretty...pretty. This isn't my main tool anyways so I don't think I'll bother with the warranty process again.

Do the the blades? Me? I don't know what you're talking about

Well I guess I forgot one thing when I listed things I wish the Skeletool had, and that is a prying tool.... That's why I bought a Crater C33L, to have a blade that would be used to cutting what you can actually cut, not various other stuff you shouldn't use a blade for. I've been more careful with my CX though (and the steel is better), so maybe I should add a prying tool to it before it's too late. The CX in that pic has the "default" blade size though, so the other one isn't THAT bad

Have you thought about carrying either a 'widgy' pry-bar or a pocket wrench?
Everything’s adjustable

+1 Nice and cheap, and you aren't out a knife blade if you overstress the Pry Widgy. ^^; :)

(Image removed from quote.)
Those look like a couple of well-used skele's for sure.  If you have been using them for prying, perhaps a screwdriver would help preserve your blades  :P

Only the bottom one is reshaped - the top one has a stock blade shape
