I'm trying to get a better grip on what makes a good flashlight. Why does this 65 lumen thing have an MSRP of $160 when you can get a 280 lumen light for $25?

Build quality, warranty, customer service are all a few aspects of why it costs so much. That 25.00 200+ lumen light is probably only around 150 lumens through the lens. Whereas the surefire is actually closer to 80 or 100.   Plus what other flashlight can you saw a maglite in two with?

There was a thread of candlepower forums awhile back where a poster used a surefire light to saw a maglite in two to demonstrate how tough the knurling and anodizing was on the surefire. He succeeded and the light still looked to be in decent shape.
