Thank you all (new to SwissTool)
on: May 19, 2010, 05:55:05 AM
I've been lurking here for a little over a week and have been enjoying this board a lot! I went searching for a MultiTool gathering because I was frustrated. I own a LM Micra, a Juice Cs4, and an Old Wave. Also have tried Gerber MTs. Gave up on the Gerbers and I've been trying real hard to like the Juice and Wave since so many others hold them in such high esteem, but I've been frustrated every time I tried to turn one of them into an EDC. I didn't even know about SwissTools, believe it or not.

Now I own a Spirit...just got my Spirit Plus Ratchet package from UPS today. And now I know what I have been missing.

I don't care now what others think of LMs, the Spirit corrects everything I was frustrated with in my other MTs. It is built rock solid! Nothing weak or flimsy anywhere on this baby. The Juice is handy but doesn't hold a candle to the Spirit in build quality. And everything on the Spirit works smoothly. I've broken fingernails and gouged my knuckles trying to open the tools on the Wave. And IMHO the tool selection on the Spirit just makes much more sense.

Thanks to my reading on this forum I am thankful I ordered a separate case just for the tool. The case that came with the ratchet and add-ons is really big and I can easily see me getting it caught in doorways and on desks. But I am thankful that I ordered the ratchet set. Very nice addition and extremely well done. I'll keep this close by in my daily bag, while I carry the Spirit in its own case. Oh yeah, unlike others my Plus Ratchet kit included the corkscrew and mini-screwdriver. Am I just lucky or what?

Thanks to all of you for leading me to my grail tool.

Doug

Welcome Aboard!  You started off right!

I totally agree about the Spirit and Plus-Kit carried separate; I discovered that back in January or so with my BO Spirit and since then it's been on my belt solo.

Best Frick'n' tool ever.

I've got the ratchet, very well made indeed.  It's the answer if you're gonna torque something pretty hard

If the ratchet is indeed that good, I will be buying a Spirit with that kit.  I just hope I can get the kit with a Spirit X.

I've no doubt the build quality with vic esp in comparison against juice.  However, given juice's size and weight both smaller and lighter than a spirit, i'd be at least bringing that wih me at all times.  not so sure abt spirit.  is it as pocketable in ur opinion?  you see, i was seriously considering to have a spirit in my pocket, but after buying cs4 which is lighter, i still want them to shad some weight off, hence i doubt if i wanna carry a spirit.
