WHat do you use whistles for? Assaults? Annoying dogs? This is one EDC item I've never seen a use for so I'm curious what people use them for

I keep a whistle on my keychain incase I ever need to get someone's attention.  For instance, when my cats get rowdy and are getting up on the stove or opening cabinet doors, a nice blow of the whistle seems to do the trick!  They cease immediately from their wrongdoing and usually don't try it again for quite some time.

Call dogs, call kids, use it on firing range, drum major (did that for a coupla years), starting races, train dogs, referee sports, bear/cougar alarm when hiking, rescue whistle...

My dog has trained me to understand eye signals, so she doesn't need a whistle

A very loud whistle like my storm can be used as a distress signal if lost hiking,it can be heard much further than shouting  ;)

...sex toy, distress/alarm signal for lost child, signaling for paintball team members, noise maker for sporting events....

I'm going to get one soon my storm whistle is to big for EDC but my wife keeps it in her handbag  :tu: she doesn't know it yet but she will be paying $45 for her storm whistle,nothing comes for free darling  ::)  :D
