Swiss tool spirit variations.
on: October 08, 2010, 03:18:04 AM
I find the variants of the spirit quite confusing.  Can someone please post pictures, with captions?

Thanks

Spirit    - Serrated Butter Blade and Scissors.
Spirit S - Serrated Butter Blade and Regular Plain-Edge Blade
Spirit X - Regular Plain-Edge Blade and Scissors

Spirit S-BO - Black oxide coated Spirit-S

Spirit RT - Special Road Tour Spirit-X with Black Anodized handles, regular silver polished tools, and special YCFL/RT Logo etched on Blade.

Spirit Military (not an offcial name) - Black Oxide Spirit-X with blasting-cap crimper in pliers

I think that lays out it pretty simple, if you don't consider the separate Bit-Kit options.

Yup that pretty much covers it. It's all about that blade.
I've seen the one that comes with the ratchet set referred to as the Spirit plus. it looks cool but beware! the sheath it comes with is extra big to hold the extra stuff so if you want to carry just the Spirit you will want to buy a regular sheath in addition to that.

That sheath that holds the bits is pretty darn big, I can wear it but usually just use the regular sheath.  Another nice sheath that fits the Spirit   perfectly and has a snap instead of velcro is the original brown leather Wave (pre-2004) sheath.  It fits the Spirit, old Wave, and Skeletool perfectly, if you don't mind the disturbing fact of having a Vic in a Leatherman sheath
