Wenger Original Ranger Series Pocket Clip
on: December 26, 2010, 11:22:07 PM
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and the good times are continuing.

I saved some packages that arrived in December so that I would have good number of exciting new toys on Christmas and enough time to properly inspect, test, and document them.

This Wenger Ranger 10/Century with Woodsaw in Advantage Timber Camouflage surprised me.  I didn't realize these had a pretty nice robust clip on them that works well on a belt or pocket.

Well that's news to me.  Looks to be a nice low profile clip as well, though perhaps not exactly low riding in your pocket. :)

Considering how long those Rangers are, this is probably about as low as it would get in your pocket anyways :P
Half-ass done wholeheartedly!

News to me too. :)  Is that a little pocket cut in the scale that the clip sits in?

Yes, the top of the clip is flush with the scales, having just the screws above the surface of the scales.

I took this side shot which shows it's profile.

So then that scale was made in a special mold. Molds cost big money. Normally you need to run a BUNCH of pieces to justify the cost of a mold. So how is it that so many of us never knew of this pocket clipped Wenger before?? ???

Correction: This is a Ranger 110 (not Ranger 10) in Adavantage Timber.  It has a serrated main blade.

Whilst this alone wouldn't do it, Wenger did go under. Perhaps they were not too good at maths ;)
