Did Vic rename the OHT?

I'm looking at the OH Trailmaster, and I think it's just a OHT renamed.

True?

The Vic website doesn't even show the Trekker anymore. So I'm guessing they changed the name.

The trekker is known as the Trailmaster outside of North America, and originally in NA as well.

Wasn't it due to Cold Steel causing a fuss over the Trailmaster name that brought about the change?  Of course Cold Steel then brought out a knife called the Spartan so maybe Vic just don't care any more.

Could be.  With the new Soldeir and the DD scales and stuff maybe they decided it's not worth maintaining the dual identity for the trekker anymore.

In Korea, I saw it sold as the Trailmaster or OH Trailmaster (depending on blade).

yes, Victorinox has to sell it in USA as the Trekker/OH Trekker due to Cold Steel selling the Trailmaster Bowie knife.  They copyrighted that name, and the rest is history.

I have never seen it sold with red scales before...interesting.

I bought this knife (and a red Jumpmaster) on eBay a couple of months ago. Haven't seen them recently under the Trailmaster name and with the older type of thumb hole.
