Voyager and modding ?
on: February 11, 2011, 06:36:48 PM
Hi,

I am new to this game and have some Qs. One of the things that lead me here was tracking down a knife with a particular tool set. What I really want doesn't seem to exist so....

Is the Voyager discontinued in particular the Onyx scaled version?

If I get one is it risky to modify the tool layers with the electronics involved?

Seth

OK, the elctronics may not matter, I have just noticed that the Onyx scales were available on other knives.

The frosted translucent scales used on the SAKs with electronics are quite brittle compared to others.  Its very easy to break them when removing.  Just so you are warned :)
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Hmmm, are 91mm gray scales available in the regular cellidor?

Not frosted.  There used to be available onyx scales that were similar but shiny.

These have now been discontinued but only in the last few years, so obtaining a SAK to pull the scales from shouldn't be too arduous a task :)  Do keep in mind that there are two colour variations that are named as onyx, one a translucent grey and the other more a translucent brown.
