Powercut
on: October 27, 2007, 08:14:49 AM
I was checking out the SOG site for the PowerCut, and I noticed it's not going to be out until 2008...

Does anyone know why it was pushed back?  I seem to remember that it was originally scheduled for a November release.  Am I wrong on that?

Nope, you're right. :(  Also the PowerAssist won't be coming out until 2008.  :(  I can't find the post but a SOG rep confirmed the delay.

Just toke a little peak at sog.com and found out that the Powercut and Powerassist have been postponed too October. CRAP SOG, what is happening??? Are they coming out in 2008 or what?

If they wait a few more months they can "announce" the PowerAssist at three straight SHOT shows. ::)

Really what the h*** is going on. I mean if they are that concerned about perfection, maybe they should think about putting better knives on their tools.

Oh, and most websites have it for sale around $60-$70 US, but of course, nothing in stock.

And NOW, the SOG website says November 2008.

I mean by this time Leatherman could have gone through R&D and be ready to release a diagonal cutter of their own!

(I hope)

I just noticed this thread was started back in October of '07. The tool still won't be available over a year later. Good grief.  :P ::) ::)

Its frustrating how long they've been dragging their feet on this one. (For cripes sake the only thing different from a regular PowerLock is the cutter head!)  I would laugh if Leatherman jumped in and beat SOG to the punch with a diagonal cutter of their own

Even if they did I'd still probably go for the SOG. :D

Because the SOG is, theoretically, twice as strong.
