Corkscrew replacement?
on: March 24, 2011, 12:14:21 AM
Hi,

other than the screw driver, is there anything else that can be put in the corkscrew location?

The mini screwdriver... a cork, ... nothing official.

I think I need to clarify...

I mean replacing the corkscrew with a different tool. The only other I know of is the philips head screw driver. But has there ever been anything else in that tool spot? Or any custom replacements?

Seems I remember seeing a MOD where someone installed a 58mm Scissors in place of the corkscrew.

I would be reluctant to replace the corkscrew , ( I carry the Handyman , the corkscrew equipped version of your Craftsman ) . It has saved my bacon so many times - the eyeglass driver , as an improvised marlin spike for knots , as an improvised hanger ) Not to mention a few parties/picnics where I had the only one .

I am looking at all te possibilities for potential special purpose mods. The corkscrew has its uses.

When I bought the Craftsman it was the only model that I could get with all of my priority tools. So I had to go with the back / side philips head instead of a prefered in line. I wish the bit holder had been available back then. That is what I really want now. But to get it with the other tools I want , I will need to mod one.

Anyway the corkscrew replacement is for a different special project.
