Weirdo tool of the day
on: April 08, 2011, 03:39:28 AM
The BossLady was up a TSC today (Tractor Supply) and saw this little gem:

It's a universal wrench (SAE and Metric)

Other side:

The sockets are sorta "turn the sides, not the corners" design.

Interestlingly the center hole allows putting a rod in it for added torque.

This WILL get tested in the near future :D

My guess would be that you could stick a steel rod in there to increase leverage.

The shaft of a Phillips screwdriver fits perfectly.  Not that I'd ever pry with a screwdriver... ::)

This thing is the size of a fat hockey puck.

That said, I gave it a try today while resetting a couple of gates. I have to say, I very impressed.  The sockets are a very good fit and caused NO rounding of even the most rusted up nuts and bolts.  The large opening on the deep end of the socket means that long bolts are no problem.

Until the socket gets loose in the rubber puck, this is going to be an amazing tool.

Two thumbs up for the Hockey Puck Socket set!  :D

Interesting.  Is there a brand name?  I'm curious as to whether I can get one over here. :tu:

I think this tool needs a good name, something easy to say that just rolls off the tongue... maybe something like the Hockey Puck Pocket Socket Set.

And as soon as we see a cheaper rip off, we can call it the Hokey Hockey Puck Pocket Socket Set.

No can opener?

You can loop a P-38 through the center hole via a piece of twine. :D
