Price of Blast lower than Fuse!?!?
on: June 21, 2011, 05:26:47 AM
I have been thinking about getting a newer Leatherman with locking tools/blades since my original SuperTool doesn't have any dedicated release mechanism for the locking tools/blades on it.  I have a Bass Pro Shop local to me and knowing they sold Leatherman products at one time I checked their web site and noticed that they still do.  I was thinking of a Kick or even a Knifeless Fuse since I EDC some kind of knife already.  I discovered on their site that the Blast is a "New" item and its price was approximately $10 less than the Fuse and about $5 more than the Kick.  It's not listed as "on sale" like the Wave is so maybe its just an intro price or they don't know any better

Go figure!

A workmate of mine is looking at buying his first MT,and after  a quick scan of tinterweb,it turns out you can get a Kick for less than a Vic Explorer,or a Blast for less than a Fuse(or a Bladeless).Or to put it another way, full sized tools for less than the price of a Squirt!

I've been good so far...but the BO Kick is tempting

Could this be due to the fact that the Kick and Fuse are soon to be replaced?  I'm thinking that maybe LM have lowered the RRP (MSRP) of the Blast in anticipation of the release of the Sidekick and Wingman.  Pure speculation on my part though. :)

Hopefully you are right about that Gareth :D Blast is a great MT  It was the first of the newer tools that I got and it stays in my truck as a backup for my EDC Supertool 300 :tu: It really is a well rounded MT an would be a great 1st MT for anyone lookin at them

I noticed something slightly the same. I was going to order a Fuse on Amazon and noticed the Blast was only $3.00 more. I already owned a Blast but i could not justify buying a Fuse when I could get a Blast for an extra $3.00. So now I have two Blast's.  :D I just left the new one in the package and did not even open it.
