I should be getting a SOG Baton Q4, a SOG PowerLitre, a Performance Tool Electrician, and a CAS Hanwei Professional. All of this should be arriving this month...I hope.
A little Leatherman information.

Thanks, Echotech! Almost the same as Eldris but cheaper. A winning combo, I think!

Only difference I see, apart from $$, is the spine not being ready for firestel use. If the steel type is the same as in the "regular" Eldris, this can be fixed, right? Making it just like the "regular" one.

I have this set on the way. It was on sale for $12. I figure a noncontact voltage tester is not only good for keeping me from accidentally zapping myself on the model train track, and to be sure if I turned off the power when doing electrical work.  This will be my fourth tool branded bottle opener as well--I currently have Channellock, Picard (which also makes a great small, lightweight hammer for precise jobs), and Kobalt. Lowe's carries a Craftsman version, but I'm hoping to find an older American-made one to add. \

I don't drink beer, and usually, these bottle openers were freebies or pack-ins with actual tools, and I just got interested in collecting them by accident.

I'm taking a COMPTIA IT class from the book publisher. Since it was online, and not with direct instruction; I at first thought it would not involve much hands-on stuff. After over a month, I was finally able to get into it. Boy was I WRONG.  First thing was that it was recommended I buy as many secondhand PCs and laptops as I could get my hands on. I figured I'd ruin the first couple I worked on (due to my bad habit of using too much force), so the more the better.  And there were a lot of tools I was missing. I had piles upon piles of screwdriver sets for small electronics missing the T5, T6, T8, T10 and tamperproof T-10 bits (which are found on my knives and tools), but ESD stuff and shims I was missing. The first module was replacing a laptop's hard drive, which was something I did need to do with one of the three old, disused laptops that were about 7-9 years old that I had. And, it just so happened the lesson was on a similar Toshiba model as I found. There is a flex cable running across the battery that has to be (carefully) removed.

Shims are cheap as chips, so I started with those. I will probably go through several styles before finding something I like.

For "shims" (plastic pry tools) I was tied between the Norton Universal Cleaning Stick (for firearms) from CountyComm and assorted purpose-built tools, so I got a few of each (because I'm going to lose them). I'm waiting on what other stuff I need to buy from CountyComm before I order those. Also going to try guitar picks. Visiting a local music store for those. Going for a pretty bright and wild pattern.

These are the first "shims" I've bought.

Now to find ESD tools that I can afford. I don't like Chicom stuff, but I can't afford the lines from the German tool manufacturers.

Congrats on taking the course, you should look into ifixit tools, they're great quality and pretty reasonably priced.

Curved or straight jaws  ?  IIRC the straight jaw version was harder to find (but you don't see many of the curved jaw ones these days either)

Curved. I have a couple, but the price was too good so now I have another.   :D

I've done the YT thing before, have another channel just the motivation to keep content up is, well is a notch below my motivation in general I suppose

Learning from the other channel though, when I get around to it, not starting until there's a backlog  :ahhh

I got one of those earlier this year when DLT Trading was clearing them out for $60. It's my go-to these days. It isn't that heavy, but I get more tool selection than my Leatherman Bond or Rebar (well, aside from the fact it has no PE blade, but I carry a folder or traditional knife anyway).
