The skeletool is one I want to like with but haven't really connected with, I think it's because I feel naked without a saw on me :dunno:
Maybe I need to do another skeletool challenge

It took me a good while, years.  Could you also carry a SAK that has saw and scissors which would really be a good combination?

Because I was such a huge fan of the Wave the Skeletool "seemed" lacking.  When I finally approached the Skeletool for what it is and not what I wished or wanted from it my feelings changed.

There are some tools that have a lot of functionality in their configuration, the Surge for example.  The Wave as well but I really didn't "need" that much tool.  Idid miss scissors so for me it was easy to add the right tool which ADDED to the over all functionality of my carry, not the Skeletool per se.

Anyways, you might bond you might not but it'll be interesting to take a different approach.

Enjoy the Squirt challenge.

Greetings, Skeletools folks.

I have had several of these, but just ran across this weird blade.  Anyone ever seen one like it before?  Wondering if its part of someone's frankentool project...

Hello and welcome to the forum, Berryhere :tu:

Are you referring to the finish or the profile? If it is the finish I might be getting tricked by the camera angle, but the blade looks like a plain edge 154CM used on the Skeletool CX

NAKKEN -

Its the FINISH. Take another look; see how it looks like a fingernail file on the side of the blade?  Its not camera angle, see the neat curve to the edge of the 'knurling' on it?  I have never seen a blade like this before, and I am curious.  Its the SMOOTH blade (not the 1/2 n 1/2, smooth and serrated), but have you ever seen a KNIFE BLADE that has a fingernail file finish on the side of the blade?

Thanks for helping me understand - typically any type of scoring on something weakens it, for what I know (tile, glass) and I wonder about this blade.

Berry

  I don't think I've ever seen that before either.  The gremlins at the LM factory at it again maybe?

Welcome to :MTO: Berry

That surely is an odd finish on that blade ??? Wonder if it missed something in the factory or someone did this one purpose to the blade  so many questions  :ahhh

Hopefully you can get an answer :salute:

I think this is the only picture I have of my CX. I have carried it so much and used it for so many tasks over the years. I don't carry it much anymore since I am a teacher except when I'm working in the yard or out fishing, but it had a special place in my collection.

You shall have to file away the bottom tab and taper that bottom edge, to be as an edge of a Leatherman flat bit.

Don't do anything to the top tab.
Just file away, flat, the hole-end of the saw
until the top tab can be captured by your SKELETOOL, bit-holder's top latch.

Thank you Poncho65.

Gotta say, it's mucho filing & fitting.
But
that comes with franken-tooling territory.
