I had a 4 day trip to the southern part of the country and I just arrived home. Here are some pictures that I took.

Pineapple and banana plantations as far as our eyes can see.

Part of grasing land

We had a stopover and had lunch at this mountain resort

I'm just bumping this one again. I REALLY like this picture.  :D :D

I really need to dust the monitor before seeing pictures like this.

I just wanna bump this picture. This is just nice. Like "I just died and now I'm opening my eyes to my eternal reward" nice. Although there had better be the eternally full cooler of beer nearby.

Out geocaching today and finally took a pic of this local furnace which is virtually on our doorstep. The site has been landscaped and includes lots of woodland and park walks, and forms part of the National Forest project, as well as being a major "junction" of public footpaths that lead to most parts of the country.

I should really have taken more, but hey, I was out for relaxing and at least I achieved that! It was also another excuse to play with my new camera, which I'm liking a lot so far.

I used to come here a lot.

Had a picnic at my buddy's place on the nearby island yesterday.

That's the mainland on the other side.

The only means of transport in going the island is by motorized banca.

Gene and Donald, you can come here anytime you want. We will go fishing and stay overnight there in the island. We can even go scuba diving in the fish sanctuary there.

Yup, it is also raining here now but not heavy downpour. Usually it rains at nightime only. As you can see in the pictures I took yesterday it was sunny.

It's a lovely part of the world, and right on my doorstep (well, a 30 minute drive). I intend to be walking a lot in the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District this year. It's not that easy to find some peace and quiet on this little island these days.

I used to come here a lot.

Beautiful place Dave. It's nice to have something like that within reach.

On another note: I'm glad this thread fell to a new page; SWMBO was giving me the looks every time DTH's favorite pic was showing on the screen... :D

A few shots from my weekend away with friends.  The first place is called the Devil's Beeftub, known as a place where stolen cattle could be rested once they were on the Scottish side of the Border.

The other two are of my friends Tower house in Galloway, Scotland.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.
