The price is painful- I am pretty certain Wenger said MSRP was $175.

Looks like it's even more, $180 MSRP.

Like already said that's really a lot consider what I can get a good plier based tool for.

Beautiful. Want.

Pet peeve: no on-board storage for the bits. Sure, the lack of pocketability means you'll probably have the pouch with you. But I see that as a core SAK design feature: it's an all-in-one tool.

Love the Cybertool for how it solves this problem.

WengerNA also lists the Mike Horn Ranger at $240, but Amazon has them for $140.  I figure that puts an Amazon price of $95 on the RangerGrip 90.  That seems reasonable.

Looks like they're out ... but I think the price needs to come down some more before we all go flocking to grab one

Most capable saw on any MT? OK, I won't argue, since I don't own one of these, but it must be one helluva saw if it's better than the Leatherman MUT's.

All these double tooth saws are pretty much all effective, Wenger wins by sheer size.

Lowest I've seen is $130, think I'll wait for them to come down a bit, though it may not.

I hauled a box of old and/or odd Wengers down to the Wenger store in Boulder today to show the staff. They enjoyed seeing the items, and were particularly interested in the Wenger sight adjustment tool for the SIG assault rifle. While I was there I picked up the new RangerGrip 90 and the EvoGrip S16 Patagonia. Both very nice.

The new style awl looks good, how well does it work? Although on a rare occasion the Wenger awl design is as or more useful, generally I far prefer the Victorinox style either sewing or Pioneer style awls. Once when I needed pilot holes in a confined space I figured here was a time I would find the Spirit superior to the Leatherman Wave/Charge that is missing that useful implement. I was working with Formica cabinets covered though and it would not dig in. The Farmer awl came to the rescue.

As I commented in the other forum in a post of glorious pictures of this Wenger knife I asked the following.

That looks awesome! Has Wenger, however, done anything to enable the can opener in this 120mm model to work properly, i.e., open large cans? It still looks like Wenger has eschewed adding one sized properly for the knife. I really like the design if they have or would fix that flaw.

I don't like the Wenger can opener, but I certainly see no reason for it to be any bigger.  I would certainly not consider it a flaw.  Vic can openers don't really grow on the 111mm either.

On this model it could not be any bigger without reducing the file.  The should have skipped the can opener all together and put in a bigger file.

Personally I think the opener location would have been perfect for a small scissors.

OK, now give that to me with Scissors instead of the Pliers and I would have it in a minute.  :pok: :pok: :salute:

Same here.  Would love a corkscrew on the back too.

Thanks for the info. My point was that a can opener should be able to open a can. On my RangerGrip 78.821 it will not work on larger cans. Perhaps it is different on this model and in any event as you point out since it is opposite the file, one would not want to shorten the file. I've never had a problem opening a larger can with my Vic. I love that longer saw on the Ranger.

It is... no question.  The saw on my Patagonia 179 model is the same and it goes through 1" oak sticks like a hot knife through butter.
