Finally found a guy named Steve to buy this SAK!

No corkscrew/phillips cutout on this one.

Is there an empty space on the bottom where the CS would go?

Nope I put the awl there and a fine driver on back of the opener layer.

That's a nice one. Take off the scissors and add a flat sd opposite the blade and it's prefect for me.

Really love those liners, especially the double-width one.

Swiss and Canadian engineering seem to go well together.

I saw your previous replay about the scale tolls in 93 mods and that is too bad as what I would some day like to get is a bit thick as it is... And nice trick for the same in 91mm line.

And when you say you no longer work much with the 93mm line, is this because you don't like to or because there is not much interest in it?  :D

Cost is the main reason since I dont make the backsprings any more.  People always want tools added from the 91mm line and once you do that it costs more for an alox 93 than a Ti 91.  And a Ti 91 is way better in quality, durability an tools per thickness.

Example to add pliers to a pioneer, 4 SAKs.
Build a Ti 91 with pliers, 1 donor SAK.

The other main reason is how awful the scissors on the pioneer x are.  The backwards nail nick ruins it, and the spring is so over strong if I dont weaken it when i do my pivot conversion the scissors are almost impossible to open.  I first used to bend the spring but now I find it more efficient to modify the pivot end of the 93mm scissors so they have less cam action.

I see there is only one scale tool the latest tool in this thread, thee tweezers I presume. So there can be no toothpick (I guess it would have to be a metallic one, but what good is that if it is not made of gold? :D)? What about the rest of the tools in the plus scales, the ballpoint pen and the pin, is there any chance you could include those? :D

I know I've been asking a bit to many questions lately, but any impulsive buy starts with so many damn questions...  :D

I was also hoping I could get the toothpick in one scale, tweezers in the other.  There was some discussion of this a few months ago...

Maybe it would be necessary to put a liner under the scale to hold the toothpick?  I would have no problem with that solution.

I've got my donor knives ready to go, just waiting for this.

Check back in this thread - Syph discusses options and plans
(Maybe search on pin or pen or toothpick)

The customer for this build wanted as few backtools as possible.  The saw and scissors layer I could accommodate but the blade layer needed something so I went with the awl there.  :D

The cybertools are popular lately.  Here's another, and I have yet another going together.

This one is the widest bladeless one Ive done yet.  The liners are polished Ti.

Oh and this is unique since I replaced the blade layer with the scissors layer but put the corkscrew on the back in place of the hook.  The backspring does need to be modified for this to work.  I ground off the corner of the spring where the corkscrew contacts it, to give it just the big of extra room needed for the corkscrew to close.  Works perfect.  :D
