Some randome photos of some great SAKs.
on: March 10, 2012, 07:51:08 PM
I haven't posted that many photos of late, and decided to take a few minutes to take a few and post them here. I hope you enjoy and possible discuss some of them if you feel the need.

I finally got my Chinese Opera Classic. The irony is that Deal Extreme sent me a video highlighting why I am a saint when it comes to patience, only to have the package arrive the very next day. Happy it got here.

I just wish I had the box for the larger one. For the deal I got it, I guess I can't complain any.

A pair of bone handled Classics.

A pair of upper class Wengers.

The Millennium Wenger.  I got this special knife from a really great guy here on the forums. I even felt like a heel buying it off of him. At least he knows the knife has a good home.

A Geotech Explorer in a plastic presentation case.

Some of Victorinox's big boys. The red one is the cheese knife.

Followed by one size smaller.

A few red Alox knives.

Did someone say alox?

To cap this odd grab at random knife assortment, the Wenger Snife series.

Nice pics as usual. :tu: And some special SAKs in your collection too. But the one that always brings a smile to my face is the Snife series Waves. That was the first real SAK I bought when I was 12. I'll have to hunt down one of those purely for collection purposes.

Hunting those all down took me a few years. The majority of the ones I found during that time were in rough shape, as the finish doesn't last very well on them over time.

Come to think of it, the Snife series is partly to blame on my current fascination with the Victorinox Fashion series Classics.

Excellent pics and some amazing knives there  :salute:

In a way I'm quite glad you got them and not me, as I'd just carry the buggers and wreck them  :D - particularly the Millenium Traveller, the two upper class 65's and the bone skeleton classic - they're incredible !!!

That knife has character, the stories it could tell.  :D

Yes, it makes finding them in great shape that much harder.

Cool SAKs

I found a very cheap Opera Climber but also with no box.

Are there any specific SAKs you are looking for at the moment?

Reinier, no actually. I cruise eBay on occasion to see what I can dig up that interest me. Problem is, I am a generalist, so I never know what I might like until I see it. Makes collecting SAKs rather un-stressful. :D

It can be.

Here are a few more photographs of some of my presentation boxes...with one not in an official box.

Yellow looks so nice.

Although white isn't bad either.

I just use the box to hold the keychain even though the Horn Bijou doesn't have an attachment point, the case is shaped for one.

My only two official stone Classics.

A burgundy Deluxe.

A brown marble Deluxe.

Gold Bijou.

Very nice. I am not extremely interested in the 58mm models but that horn one and the gold Bijou are gorgeous

Neither was I. However, I fear the colourful designs of the Wenger Snifes got me hooked on design and colour...and other than the Classics, no other Vic lineup offers something similar.

Maybe this is more to your liking.

A few more similar scaled Wengers.

I really like those  :D :D

I have the leather inlaid luxury cigar cutter already, and have a plain stainless "coffin" Traveller on the way, which I believe/assume are 2nd and 3rd from the left in your pic

My cigar cutter knife is reserved for "wedding" duties, and the coffin Traveller should be more frequent carry, like my brushed stainless (standard scale shaped) version. I really do like the Traveller as an EDC knife, and the really nice thing about the Luxury Cigar Cutter is that apart from the cigar cutting tool itself ... it's a Traveller  :D :D :D I should also have a wood scaled EKA version (?) Traveller on the way too. My celidor fully serrated Traveller ... noticing any recurring themes here  :P ... has been put aside for meeting Mr Pillar drill ... one day ... eventually  ::) :P

What are the other knives in that line up?
