Hello from Russia
on: May 16, 2012, 12:41:56 PM
Hello everyone. I'm Oleg from Moscow, Russia.
When recieved my first multitool, Leatherman Charge tti, as a birthday present from wife 3 years ago i didn't expect this subject to be so interesting. Now I'm in constant search for "best fit" multitool so allways looking for information about interesting and original models. And finally decided to register here as there is much info about Leatherman an Victorinox models, but a big lack about rest in Russian part of the internet .

Yep. I really like it, still my favorite one. Helped me in many situations. But it lacks few functions , and has  plenty others that i use rarely. So TTi is not the best edc multitool for me.

These guys and gals here will make you want every tool ever made.
Wish i registed earlier to get this advice. Allready want every multitool
And allready have Gerber 600, SOG Multiplier S62 that bought to compare with TTi, Leatherman Flair that use as edc, CRKT Guppie, SOG Crosscut and few Wengers and Vics including old and new generation GAKs.  :climber:

You mean Nox Sapper/Professional/Vzmah-3? Sorry, haven't seen one. This tool is rare even in Russia - the millitary issued Sappers are still in service and the civilian Professional is greatly overpriced. I cheked the official Nox dealers some time ago, Nox Professional retails for 10000+ rubles thats more than $330 and i was unable to find better price!!! And this is for tool that has only one real advantage - 116mm blade (that's due to reviews).
Not so many fanatics are ready to spend this money for Nox tool when you can purchase Leatherman Crunch for eg 2-3 times less in Russia.

Also there is one more model - Nox Biker. This one is a pocket tool. It is expensive as well - $150+ - especially if you see how primitive it is.

I agree mate those prices are not in the range of the average tool lover  :( :( :(.
I still would love one or three of them  ::) :D :D, they are so unique & a tad quirky  :gimme: :gimme: :D :D.

I wonder what Nox charges the military for the Sapper  .

Be nice if they could some how get their prices down to a more affordable level

Afraid first is not a public information  :salute:

And prices won't go lower - the production was limited. Some say that company just made civilian models from the defective military ones. Possibly it's really like the old habbit of the USSR production - the best goes to military, the rest (defective and otherstock) to civilians  >:( >:( >:(
Moreover new Nox ("Noks" as they call themselves btw  :) ) web page catalog http://www.noksknives.ru/catalog/production/multifunction/ doesn't have all these tools.  :-[ :-[ :-[ they can be seen on older web page of the company that owns the brandname:
http://www.melitak.ru/isklprof.html - Professional
http://www.melitak.ru/batsaper.html - Saper
http://www.melitak.ru/iskl.html?start=10 - Biker is the first.
May be I'm wrong with this as the fist url is also the shop of the company in Moscow, but still they have some products that are out of stock there.
So possibly the only option to find them cheaper is to look for used ones. Or contact the company or the engineer who created it directly. When they started salles the cost was around $200 as far as I remmember.
