You've got a bubble in your compass man.  I have done a lot of orienteering and land navigation stuff.  You don't want to know all the compasses I have.  A GPS, that's a bit much for around town.  I do own one though for when I am in the outdoors.  When in the backcountry the type of compass I carry depends.  My mainstay is a Suunto MD-2.  I do have a Brunton 8099 which I might carry especially when I want to know angles for various reasons.  I also have a Suunto wrist compass which is nice for snowshoeing since I don't have to get it out.  I prefer a compass that can set the magnetic declination.  Sure I can do the math but if you are cold-wet-hungry-stressed even simple math can become difficult.

I carry usually a Champion Plus but that can vary sometimes as I give other SAK's quality pocket time.

When outdoors or when needed I carry a Gerber 600 multiplier.  Yes, I like the flick out pliers and it has both a regular and serrated blade.

butane lighter that has a nice little LED on it.

In the outdoors I like a headlamp as it gives me hands free light.

A nice traditional pocket compass but with modern liquid fiiled capsule.  But I have many special purpose compasses and in the outdoors for standard navigation use a Suunto MD-3.  I also carry an older Garmin GPS II+.  I've been using GPS for a long time and never felt the need yet to upgrade to a newer model.  I also like to do geocaching with the GPS and compass.

Cell phone

I gotta get used to that Brit speak with the term kit.

Almost forgot I wear a Timex explorer watch but at times will use a Casio altimeter watch.  Does anyone know how to tell direction using a conventional watch and the sun?  It can be done and my Timex has a compass bezel so I can use it as a field expedient compass.  I don't prefer elextronic compasses, violates the KISS principle.

Man you guys carry a lot of stuff. I don't have a pic right now but I carry my wallet, my Spirit, a Bic lighter, a Vic Executive, my cell phone, my Listerine breath stuff, a hanky and if I'm driving, my keys.

665ae, what load are you carrying in your Smith? I had a Smith 638 which is very similar to yours but I bought it after my eyesight went to craps so I couldn't hit anything with it.

During the winter the knuckles on my hands crack and bleed if I don't hit them with some kind of ointment every few hours. I've found the Burt's Bees burn ointment works best.

That, and it makes a fun popping sound if you press on his face.

GMArthur, I noticed that the 4 screws on your Supertool are not all the same. Are those 4 screws still the original ones? I'm just curious. Thanks.

Ben, do you really carry all that stuff everyday. I thought a childrens home would be tough work but not that tough lol ;)

I haven't got a pic of what I EDC, but its just the normal.... wallet, car keys, phone, mini SAK, pen, USB sticks etc. I dont usually carry multitools in my pocket as they are just left at work for me to use when I get there :)

When I am at work I can't carry the OHT or the Swisstool, but I always carry the rest.  When I need to be legal in what I carry, I carry my Wenger SI with either my KF4 or my Gerber Multiplier.

I take your vaguary as a challenge!

While I get the SAK Finder warmed up-

My kit has changed since the last one of these threads.
With lack of bag, I have not been able to carry my trusty Screwdriver and Wrench.
my second Multi has been left on the boat, and I've neglected the lockback in favour of Pioneer.

So -

Vic Pioneer
LM Pst
Mag Solitaire
Vic Classic
Big Ol' Cutters (The specs say they can cut up to 6mm steel rod! - and people get excited when their Multis can cut chain link fence. Bah!)

and of course - wallets, smokes, lighter, phone, black electrical tape, pen, pencils, notebook.

I've started carrying about 6 foot o' hollowed out nylon cord.
Not because I expect to encounter some sort of situation, but on the off chance I get some free time, to practice knots and lanyarding.

OK, cool. I was just going to say why the Gerber not the Swisstool, but those models don't have the locking blade do they. You probably would get away with the Swisstool at work, but there again they might take a dim view of it considering who you are working with. I think all my full size tools lock apart from the KF4 I have, but thats not going into work, I don't want to chip the paint off that beauty :o ;)

Yeah the KF4 is a damn good tool. The only thing it lacks to be perfect in my opinion is some scissors, but I'm not complaining. Do you have the yellow colour or the grey?

Yeah I have the yellow too, its a fab colour, I wasn't so sure at the start if to go for yellow or grey but yellow was the one going at the time so I got that and glad I did. I've never actually seen anyone with the grey one. Its OK though, Bob will be here soon with a pic of the grey one that he's probably got ;)
