I'm considering purchasing a wave and would like to get it from Amazon as I have a gift card to use. There seems to be two types available that I guess only differ in the type of sheath included.
This one:
Leatherman 830039 New Wave Multitool with Leather/Nylon Combination Sheath
http://www.amazon.com/Leatherman-830039-Multitool-Leather-Combination/dp/B0002H49BC/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_topand
Leatherman 830040 New Wave Multi-Tool with Nylon Sheath
http://www.amazon.com/Leatherman-830040-Multi-Tool-Nylon-Sheath/dp/B0002H49BM/ref=pd_sim_hi_1There is only a dollar or so difference between the two.
The sheath is a pretty important issue for me in terms of useability of the multi-tool.
I don't need/want something that holds anything more than just tool. I don't need a sheath that can hold the tool in the open position. I don't care for the sheaths with the full-flap molle closures. I'm not interested in clip carry of an MT.
I would like a sheath that is as form-fitting as possible and allows for vertical or horizontal carry. My all time favorite sheaths were the leather ones with snap closure that came with the original LM multi-tool. They were very low profile, not physically larger than necessary, unobtrusive on the belt, yet I was able to insert the tool with one hand even while wearing work gloves. I recently purchased a blast with leather snap closure sheath but the way it is engineered the MT gets hung up on the way into the sheath oftentimes and will not fully seat inside the sheath without repositioning of the tool.
If one of the two sheaths available with the waves from Amazon do not meet these requirements I would like to purchase an aftermarket sheath that does. Are these available?
Thanks
