Not today, but I've learned that the cap lifter is great for removing staples. Almost daily at work…

Worked some more cleaning up my beater red ALOX and then used it to cut some cockleburs out of the schnauzer's coat.

I used one of mine to take the scales off of another.  The can opener blade is good for this.  It has a sharp edge, but not too sharp.

I also used my Champion to open some packages and my mail.  I modified mine with a serrated blade and bright yellow plus scales.

I used the screw driver/nail file of my classic to "repair" my iPhone case... The case is disintegrating and today it suddenly wouldn't close properly. A bit of the leather (or fake leather or whatever) at the hing had loosened up and wrinkled up. I used the screw driver to push the leather back under the plastic part of the caseing. Now it closes again ^^*

"Angry Orchard hard cider" I tried that recently and it was very good! Can't drink beer because of the gluten :-(

I used a Vic plier on my custom 4 layer "Librarian" to tighten the nuts on the tuning pegs of my Ibanez Acoustic during a string change. Perfect size!

I used my custom serrated champion to slice some fruit at the local farmer's market.

What was cooler, however, is the farmer I bought some oranges from.  I wanted to sample an orange and he pulled an ancient Opinel out of his pocket with a super heavy patina on the blade.  I found myself longing for that old classic.

Weird...I sliced oranges today with an Opinel....it was stainless though.

Dinner at a restaurant: I order asparagus.
The asparagus was excellent but the knife ...   :(   ???   :o   :-[   >:(      :bnghd:
...flat steel is sharper!

And so I had to cut the asparagus in a "good" restaurant with my SAK

Yeah, had to do that quite often myself. ::)

I now usually have an ALOX Solo or SRM 718 with me for such tasks.

Not exactly today, meant to post this yesterday but didn't have the time to do it.

Most of the tubes in Taipei have escalators leading to and from the surface to the platform stations. Here we have a habit of standing on the right side of the escalator and leave the left side vacant so people that are in a hurry can walk through.

Yesterday during the evening rush hour a female passenger was wearing a long floral skirt, and it had caught in the corner at the end of the escalator and was pulling it in slowly while she was struggling to keep her skirt on. Her companion, a young male, who was covered in tats and a bright patchy green hair just stood there panicking. As I went by I looked back, the line behind them is building up, commuters carrying orchestral instruments were coming down, it's rush hour, nobody wants to press the button to stop the whole escalator let alone help a stranger covered in tats.
As I went by, I pulled out my Pioneers and asked the man. Sir, do you need a knife? Without hesitation he replied: Yes.
So I hand him my Pioneer at the same time telling him to mind the blade, it's quite sharp. With a clean slice the crisis had been averted, the lady get to keep her skirt on, and there's no need to stop the whole escalator.

TL;DR
Woman's skirt got caught in the escalator, cut it free with my SAK.

Helping out with an AA function early today.  The decaf label had to come off a coffee urn, and it was laminated on there.  Nothing the blade and can opener on my Super Tinker couldn't handle.... :)
