New to Leatherman...teething problems

New to Leatherman...teething problems

Just purchased my first Leatherman (Charge) and have managed to lock open the blades, saw and file. Not clear how I unlock and close!

There will have been a piece of sprung metal that's moved over and is now in the way of the blade closing.  It's known as a liner lock system, all you need do is push it back down with your thumb and carefully close the blade.  Here's a pic to try and show you what I mean:

If you look really carefully you will see a picture of a little padlock on the liner lock, push that. Just mind your fingers  ;)

Oh yes, if I remember correctly there will be a small "open padlock" symbol showing you where to push. :)

Re the earlier question: it's a TTI. Purchased for me by a member of the US part of the family. These tools are very expensive in the UK.

Is that folded sheet of paper the manual? Even now I see no mention of the unlocking symbol procedure?

The TTi is a very nice tool , and yes very expensive here in the UK  :o  You just need a nice SAK to go with it now  :D  Welcome to the slippery slope.

I love watching the Youtube reviews where guys often have no clue what some of the features are on the tools they are reviewing or how they work. I realize many guys never read the manuals but you would think if you are posting a review at least you would want to know what you are talking about.

Welcome to MT.O!¡! Glad you got the problem solved. It could have been worse, I  did that with an original Super Tool. That's a bugger to unlock when you have them all opened and locked.

The multitools themselves are addictive, but it gets taken to the next level once you are trying to find a SAK to compliment/complete your EDC set.  One or two will turn into a few, and then it's too late, you've caught the bug and there's no turning back :D  That's what happened to me anyway :sak:

Oh and the Charge TTi is an awesome tool.  It is one of my faves and is in my top 3 full sized multitools that I prefer to carry (Charge, Rebar and Swisstool Spirit).
