Its such a good toolset.  The green look nice.  Plus scales really add very useful implements.  Just yesterday I got a nasty splinter.  The mag glass and pin made quick work of it.

:iagree:

I've never really thought about it this way before, but the magnifying glass, pin, and tweezers really complement each other.

I agree with you on the green scales! Before I got them in hand, I was afraid they would be too dark, but they're just the right shade of green to contrast nicely with the stainless steel.

Now that's an oldie that looks to be in great shape. Did you remove the advertising from the front scale or did you get it that way?

I bought the knife several years ago, and I believe it was NIB.  I swapped the scales for some advertisement scales and removed the corporate logo.  I kinda like the reverse look

Yes it is.  While I still hold the Explorer in the highest regard I have alternated with other SAKs.  I do really enjoy the tool set very much.  That mag glass has really come in handy more than just for exploring the small world around.

If it’s any consolation you could use the explorer magnifying glass to look at the bottom of the rabbit hole
but between you and me there is no bottom!

I’ll be here all week  :hatsoff:

I second the usefulness of the mag glass, especially when having to read the tiny letters on those tiny button cell batteries.

I first ran across the mag glass on a Champion c, then later discovered the Explorer. Since then, any SAK that I plan to carry regularly pretty much has to have a mag glass layer. So I've also got Swiss Champs and an Outdoorsman.

I'm debating whether or not to get a Compact and build a Yeoman or Yeoman Mechanic.

Just finished putting a set of SilverTech scales in an old Explorer I bought some time ago. Awlso got a paracord lanyard and a mini SD added.

 8) 8)

I like this new look a lot. So much so, I'm tempted to EDC it (even without the usual 3+ backups). I don't even know who I am anymore...

Awesome shot!

I’m not there…yet. But someday…  :ahhh

I do use multi-lens magnifiers and a double-mag mod though.

As requested, here's a couple more pics of my Silvertech Explorer. I use the lanyard+hook to carry heavy bags.
