  • I'm an Adult?!?! When did that happen?
Last year I sold one of my great loves, a lovely old Ducati 750SS. Unfortunately she was getting to the age where I was a Ducati mechanic more than I was a Ducati rider.

Lately I have been looking around trying to decide which model would be my next Italian Mistress.

I had pretty much decided on the ST3 as my back and wrists are getting too old to cope with a pure sports bike and then I read this line in a review...

"This is more than just a motorcycle; the ST3S is a Swiss-army knife for riding. It lets you carve corners, take grand adventures and motor along at any speed you like. If there’s a better definition for sport touring I don’t know what it is."

and it's a very close shade of red to cellidor...   So my latest SAK is a Ducati

Nice one,love big Dukes!

Do you have any pics of the 750SS?Was an old bevel drive,or the newer Pantah type?

And have you googled the Ducati SAKs?Nearly impossible to find but

Bevel... I wish.  :dd:

1995 full fairing, twin front discs and the most AWESOME sounding carbon cans.

Never seen a Ducati SAK,  but I had a Ducati USB stick.

Peter I reckon you should get one of these , with a Vee Two motor  :D :D ;

I came within a gnats willy of buying a 650 Pantah  20 years ago :dd: :dd:, bought a GPz900 instead  ::). The ST3 does not look like a traditional Duc   Not near as racy as a 916 but I suspect infinitely more comfortable  :D.

Peter I love the look of your 750SS, carbon cans + desmo Duc, that sound

The ST3 looks better without the luggage which comes off in seconds.
There was a reason that the 916 was known as "The Torture Rack"

I would have loved to get a 848, but even my current ride which was a cheapie I picked up off a mate who was leaving the country is hell on my back and wrists after less than 100km's.
And at this time of life I like to throw the better half on her back... er, I mean on THE back and head off for a nice day ride or even a weekend away.
Valentina (yes, she's got a name. The 750 was Sophia) has had the airbox mod and been chipped so should be about 115hp and that's plenty enough to get into trouble.

better drop a shot of Jorge. (so called because "he" is a Yamaha and has angel and devil stickers.

Yep no point getting a bike that looks good but beats you up

Love the ST3!  I seriously looked at those when I bought:

Which has been my primary transportation for 7 years.  2 years ago, I swapped a Suzuki Burgman for this:

A 2000 996.  Super fun when the weather is good and the traffic is light.  >:D

There is just something about Ducatis
