I recently won a 84mm electrian off of le bay ( new in clamshell).  When I saw it I was shocked. I had no idea there was an 84mm elec blade. It might make for some interesting modding!

Being that it is rather rare and nib, if this is anyone's rainbow unicorn, I can transfer it a cost ($25).

Vic uses the same blade as the 93.  Curious how they get 0 blade play as the hole is 3.0mm.  I've already transferred one over to a cadet and followed the brass bushing instructions provided by Syph. I thought I had been had when I opened the first but 3 more have proven the same blade.

So the hole on the 84mm blade is 3.0?

It's the same blade, but in a 84 frame I believe they use a 3mm bushing so it matches.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Cadet with a sheep's foot blade? Sounds good to me. Any pictures?

Rick, my reading comprehemsion is not great, the 84mm blade had no bushing and a 3.0 hole?  That is very interesting if that is the case!

It must be that the spring presses the pivot onto the steel of the hole in a way such that it limits the range of motion.  And laterally it is restricted by the side liners.  I wonder if this would work over a three or four layer sak? And I wonder what other tools could also use this technique...

Yep Vic is lazy and just slaps them in with the wrong pivot size hole.  The XLT and other big ones are the same way.  Others have commented that they snap on those is less than it should be do to this fact.

Well, doesn't this open to door to certain 91/93mm tool being able to being ported to the 84mm frame?

Sure but its lazy too. :D  Id make a bushing for it to get the best snap, but putting bigger tools on 84s has more problems than just pivot size.  Spring width and size are harder to tweak.
