Victorinox Tourist Knives
on: July 21, 2013, 11:31:05 PM
In recent years Victorinox has offered tourist knives with scenes of landscapes and cities on the handles. Most of the actual knives are Spartans or Climbers. Some of the knives are intended for commercial sale; other are limited editions for special events.

To start off with here are a series of Swiss Climbers. Most of them are still available from Swiss-Knife in Lausanne. In addition to these there are series of knives done for the Glarner region of Switzerland.  Wayne has one of those.

Austria has had three tourist Vics, for Salzburg, Vienna, and Linz.  The Linz and several other Austrian knives (Mozart, etc.) are still available from Pizzini.

The German knives are a mix of Spartans and Climbers, and are rather erratically available. The Nueschwanstein one is available from the castle online gift shop.

The Irish knives are Spartans. They don't appear to be currently available. In addition to the ones shown, ads show a church. However I've never seen it for sale.

Around 20 Argentine knives were offered. However Argentine postal regulations and monetary restrictions make them very difficult to get.

In addition to the knives mentioned above, there are two tourist knives for Hungary. However I've never been able to navigate any of the Hungarian knife dealer web sites. There is also a knife for Andorra. Once saw an ad for a Mexican knife, with a Mayan pyramid on it, but have never found a dealer listing it.

Here in argentina there are a total of 17 models i know of. As i dont currently own any i couldnt get great pictures.

All of them:

Some are more common than others and a couple are very hard to get even here.

If anyone's interested Messer Ferrari still has some of the limited Glarner series knives. They won't ship to the US; don't know where they will ship.

As mentioned above, a knife dealer called Messer Ferrari ordered a number of scenic knives for the Glarnerland region of eastern Switzerland. There are over a dozen different images available on an assortment of Huntmans, Campers and Climbers. Some of the images are also available on Classics, and on special order, on Champions.

Ferrari doesn't ship outside of Switzerland. However one of our Swiss members was nice enough to pick up a batch of the Garner knives for me. Thanks again Martin, for a great-looking bunch of knives!

Just received a bunch of Swiss scenic knives, Climbers and Campers. Castles, restaurants, and plenty of pretty scenery. If the Schilthorn looks vaguely familiar, think back to Blofeld's lair in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".
