I just have to start a coffee thread because I am a fanatic. What are you drinking lately?

Right now I'm doing Caribou Coffee Daybreak Morning Blend during the day. At night I'm doing Starbucks House Blend decaf.

Im a coffee nut too, there are many coffee places here but there is one with  a full menu of coffees from different places and organized by their strength, weak, medium, strong, with around more than 10 different oprions on each. I must say that a colombian strong coffee is like a kick on your chin and its really the way to go on those days when work has you fully burnt out, it just feels like the coffee the  >:D would drink   :D

Most of these are just coffee colored water. :P

Only real coffee is Turkish/Greek coffee.

This is similar to the way we make it.

You are right Enki. This is the real thing. Served with Turkish Delight (loukoumi), Submarine Masticha, Orangeade or simply 1-2 heavy fresh rolled cigarettes.

I just had one too,  K. :D Didn't remember to take a pic though.

@Aloha
There's only one place in town where you can get this kind of coffee, and that opened up recently. Most other places serve espresso. I had a thread not too long ago on Crotian coffee drinking habits. I'll try to find it as it's very different than what you US folks consider as drinking coffee. ;)

The wife and I are huge fans of Starbucks, alas there is none where we live.

We usually have the a blend of local Baque brand coffee with a traditional stove top espresso maker.

We also have a Dolce Gusto Piccolo which I used to use for my morning coffee when I was working 6am shift :

Just having my 2nd cup for today and loving it.

The article is right. It is the same in Greece too. In fact, it is the same in all the Balcans. The only other European place coffee shops resemble ours is Vienna, maybe because, as an empire, the were influenced by Balcan culture.

And when you look at it Central and West Europe didn't really know what coffee was until the siege of Vienna.

Anyway I don't mind espresso as long as they don't recycle. And Enki can confirm that in a good number of places that happens too often

I am a coffee fan myself, but nothing exotic really.  Most times either store bought or Dunkin Donuts.  Love iced coffee.  I think I need to lay off of it though.  I have a big cup of hot coffee most mornings at work and it kickstarts some acid activity and I'm stuck with heartburn for a good portion of the day off and on.

that was a good read Enki thank you.  I was unaware coffee was as such in Croatia however I know little to nothing about Croatia.  I do love the smell and flavor however caffeine gets me jacked big time.  im pretty high octane anyway ( think hammie from over the hedge ) so I like to drink my coffee much like you described ( watered down ).

Me too  :tu: I do enjoy the odd cup of instant coffee (maybe 4 or 5 cups a week), and a very rare cup of filter coffee. The rest of the time it's tea for me. Or Cordial. Or beer. Or wine. Or ....  :D :D

I have tried drinking coffee from a coffee shop a few times and found it absolutely disgusting. I have no idea what all the names mean, but they all seem to taste equally vile just with varying degrees of milk  :-\ I've never been able to finish one yet, let alone decipher why my frappemochacockahoopydingleberrylatte is really any different from the esspressosweatyfartycacchiato I ordered last time  :-\
