Rebar pivot question
on: September 09, 2013, 10:16:48 PM
Hi Guys, has anyone here replaced the pivots or at least the screw side of the pivot on their rebar. After a frustrating mod I did recently the pivots are looking a little worse for wear and I would like to be able to remove them more easily in the future as I hope to do further mods. I am ok if things need a little modification as I have access to a lathe and other tools.

Cheers.

First thing that comes to mind is using a dremel diamond coated cutting disk and cutting a straight line along the middle of the pivot head. (Hope you understand what I mean  ) Then you should be able to disassemble the tool using any flathead screwdriver or a SAK. I haven't done it myself but it's been suggested in an old thread by a member who's no longer here. You'll be voiding your warranty though and as I haven't done it I can't guarantee how it would work.  ;)

Certainly a possibility, not much meat on the pivot head though. Warranty issue isn't a problem I think I sorted that out when I took my wave and the rebar to the grinder ;)
