Modified my Surge Sheath with a belt Clip
on: September 12, 2013, 09:42:27 PM
I prefer a belt clip for my sheath.  I actually realized this when Metro graciously gifted me with a Safety Orange Skinth L Shield Prototype (Awesome sheath for my Wave BTW!).

So I added a Tandy spring belt clip (http://goo.gl/U9jKdD) to my Leatherman Surge Sheath.  I slipped the clip down through the top horizontal carry loop, punch a rivet in the bottom of the clip, making sure to only go through the vertical carry belt loop.  Then I sewed on both sides of the clip to hold it in place.  The only functionality I lost is the ability to horizontally carry the sheath which I never have, never will, and would never recommend doing.  Now I wonder what I can use the bottom horizontal carry belt clip.

Lets hope it holds up.  It usually sits in my truck so it is carried infrequently so I think it will last a long time.

That's a neat setup you made there. Just be careful it doesn't slip off your belt and get lost.  :D

im a huge fan of belt clips and this looks great.  I like to be able to remove the sheath without taking off my belt and vice versa.   :tu:
