Does anybody know when SOG stopped using hex bolts to hold their multis together?

I think hex bolts replaced the allen heads. The new ones have hex bolts. Not 100% sure on this.

Might have been sooner. I was going by the reports people posted. But some have said since they have bought SOGs with the new type screws even before that. Anyone want to fire off an email to SOG and ask? :D

I have bought the 3 variations of the powerlock.  The orginal ( no piano locks, no gear cover ) had the hex bolts, but the next 2 versions (piano locks, gear cover and no piano locks, gear cover) had the screws.  All other sogs I bought had screws so Im not too sure when the change was.  I prefer the screws, so Im happy they use those now.

I bought my PPP in 2010 and it has the Allen screws.

Just pulled my new Power Assist apart and put it back together again. It has the hex screws. It's allot easier than reassembling the LM Wave IMHO.
Eventually even McGyver got himself a Leatherman

Hex bolts were always one of the best things about SOG multi-tools.  My paratool has always been extremely easy to service because of the hex bolts.
