Tossing some life back into this one. Not today, but on Saturday my Crucial(yes, the one most people hate) was in my little tool kit in my camelbak during the mountain bike endurance race I did. And it helped me out in a big way, come second lap I hear the dreaded sound of crunching and pinging. A big stick got itself lodged in my spokes, and then managed to bend my derailleur all out of shape.

I was less than a mile into the lap, and the bike was completely useless as it sat. After a few choice words I pulled the tool kit out and quickly grabbed for the Crucial. Pliers deployed I began trying to get the derailleur somewhere remotely close to where it belonged. After getting it somewhere in place, I realized it was ghost shifting like mad due to how misaligned it was. Onto the phillips, I was able to get it adjusted to stick smoothly in the lowest gear and limp my way through the lap rather than push the bike over 4 miles before I could really fix it.

It might not be my favorite tool, but it came through in a CRUCIAL moment for me..... Ba dum tissss

I'm guessing it's an xl-shield skinth sheath.

It's a navy blue MUT shield with brass buttons.  It's the only size sheild that can hold a needle nose MP600 and it's bit kit.  A XL works well with the mp400 + kit.  I have one in black and a 2nd in blue

At a guess i'd say the camo is a Pro Scout and the blunt nosed one is a 'standard' MP600 with PE blade and SE blade.  Sound right?

I do not intend to use any of them, so it does not matter to me   :D

The only Gerbers I use are the dime    and on the odd occasion the steady (I think they only ever sold two, Grant has the other one....    )

Any idea on the specific models of these two?

Nice looking Gerbers dks :tu:
Camo looks like MP600 Pro Scout and the other a regular MP600.  That's the extent of my knowledge....

I carry my Gerber knives around the yard for Gardening duty.  Mostly to cut small branches and twigs.  Also, I carry a sharp knife to unclog my always clogged up Craftsman lawnmower, I must admit I mow about a half of acre weekly.  And because of the torrential rain this spring, the grass is growing tall enough to lose children in it. I carry a bigger FAST DRAW, and an INSTANT to do the job.  Below are 2 pictures of my INSTANT, and 1 picture of my FAST DRAW.

Diesel all weekend, and it did me proud. Dismantling and reassembling furniture, opening packaging, replacing door locks, fitting curtain poles, loft hatch repair.... loads of things! It wasn't the only tool used, as I had a lot of dedicated tools at my disposal, but it did a good job of reducing trips up and down flights of stairs to the tool box. The only weak point was the Phillips, not any fault of the tool, but most of the screws I encountered were pozidrive (and kept camming out), and I'd not taken the adaptor and bit set with me

My Mr. Pinchy went racing today.  And it was used a few times to open shackles and cut some line.

I got Mr. Pinchy off Craigslist for $15.00 about 14-15 years ago.  It's a great tool for sailing/racing because with a short flick of the wrist, it's open and ready to go.  It's nice for cutting with both a plain edge and serrated edge. It's been bathed in salt water too many times to count.  When I get home, I typically rinse and dry it, then lightly coat it with olive oil.

I've tried to replace it with a MP600, but Mr. Pinchy is lighter and easeir to deploy.

Good to hear of a Multiplier still getting a good workout. :tu:  IF you ever felt the need to replace it an MP400 would feel closer in size than the 600 does. :)
