Nice. :tu:  Much as I like the MP600 it's the 400 that sees a lot more use from me.

I agree with you both on that, but today it's the MP600 Pro Scout.  Got a bunch of things to do today toolwise that the 600's larger pliers will handle easier.  :tu:

Been carrying this beater.

First time I have came in contact with these saws and I have to say i'm unimpressed with how it cuts wood. Could be because its well used. Any input on this?

the Remgrit saw is - as an y MT - a compromise. It´s made for cutting hard materials in a jigsaw and it does this quite well. It will cut nearly any material, but it has a rather broad cutting surface and only small  biting teeth, so progress on wood is very slow.

It´s best to look out for a few blades fitting the now rather oldfashioned shank (called "U-Shank", I believe) and either carry some as backup or plug in a wood saw if that is what you usually need.

Keep an eye open - soem of the sawblades do not have the hole that is needed to be fitted in the Gerber coupler or are thicker and won´t fit into the coupler.

I bought an assortment and need to grind them down a bit on my belt sander....

The limited use of the remgrit and it´s holders wide construction keep me from carrying my Pro Scout more often.
I do like the tool loadout on the Scout better - Although i need to put in a small screwdriver one of these days, replacing the lanyard ring or can opener.

Are the blades that would fit made by Gerber or can I go down to my local hardware store and find them?

You can buy them at most Hardware stores - Show yours as an example. It´s just a different shaft than the more common T-Shank LM uses.

I've only had a play with the Crucial, but I wasn't blown away. :-\  Just didn't feel comfortable in my hand for one thing, but nothing about it made me go wow.  Given that the Octane is the same kind of money I'd pick that every time.

Carried my MP600 for the first half of the day then changed after working on my truck and using my Gerber a few times then switched to my Wave. I almost want to carry both everyday.

My Strata hasn't seen much use lately, so I decided to give it a day at the store.  :)

I'm always in two minds about the Strata.  From what I've seen it's well made and well thought out, but it it's never really 'done' it for me.  Not enough to shell out any significant amount of money anyway. ;)

That one was a display model, got it for $20-$25.  At that price I couldn't pass it up.  ;)

Yup, that would definitely have been low enough for me to buy it. :tu:

My MP600 received a very taxing workout today. Took apart my trucks's steering column with it and a few hex drivers. Beat it up a little but gives it character.
