Centurions and Saladins....two of my favorite pieces of post war armor;I've got a feeling Centurions will be serving somewhere when the last Challenger is driven off to be put on display.
Did you get certified to be an Abbot driver? A few years ago,I saw some TV show, and there was a clip of an Abbot owner driving one around London...rush hour must be pure hell there.
Your right about the Centurions :D, I think there still a front line tank in a lot of army's, South Africa I think is the biggest user now since the Israeli, put there's into semi retirement.

And the Kuwaiti Saladin's put up a pretty good account of themselves in the first Gulf War :)

Yep some dude with more money than sence did use an Abbot as a daily runaround ::), there's another guy who does the same thing with a Scorpion (very cool wee tank :))

Ben that is some display , tanks , missiles, cannons & a Harrier . What a range. How strict is the no climb rule , my lads would go  :ahhh :ahhh if they could not climb on some of those beauties . Nice pics. :D

Very strict.  In fact, every piece had multiple plaques on them saying "Do not climb" and there were many signs on the walls as well.

Nice place to hang out.

Can I possibly rent the Centurion MK.V MBT??  I have some neighbors that need an attitude adjustment ::)

This thing is an Alvis Stalwart is it not? I've heard great things about them. Looks like one would be perfect for a joy ride around the countryside with a half dozen close friends.  :)

What vintage are they? Currently in use, or 50 years old? (Or both?)  ::)

Cool pics!
You guys should see some of the kit the war reenacters have when they goof off on the beach in Oregon. Tanks, artillery, you name it. It's actually a little startling how much of that stuff you can legally own, and startling how small the restrictions are on making it non-lethal. My wife taught a guy who probably was one of those more money than sense guys (dodge viper only driven one day of the year, owned a bar only because nobody else in town had his favorite beer on tap, etc.) who bought himself a Panzer. It'd been sitting in a ditch in the Czech Republic since the war, and the guy who owned the ditch sold him the tank for $50k. It was very rusted, but amazingly operational. He has it spangled in full Nazi colors, and drives it from Portland to Astoria (over a hundred miles) a couple times a year, on the highway. Something to behold. Always have to wonder a little about the guys who have all the Nazi gear though.

Also reminds me of my favorite restaurant as a kid. The whole restaurant was in a B-52, and most of the guts were still there, except for obviously being hollowed out to accommodate little tables and such. Kids were allowed to sit in the pilot seats, and sometimes in the bombardier's bubble. You can't imagine how cool it is to be 6 years old and munching on some chicken strips in the bomb bubble of a plane, with most of the gear still there to play with.
