I said last week that I would make a post here.  We Tinkered yesterday and get to Wenger today.  Yes, I know Wenger isn't a verb.  Don't you love the pretty Wenger scales?  Best wishes.  G

There is only one millimeter difference between the Vic 84 and the Wenger 85, right?  So what is the difference in the blades?  Nothing like a photo.  Best wishes.  G

I'll take Wenger blades any day!   I love the deeper belly as compared to Victorinox

Pretty clean example of a Commander.  The logo inlay seems to be metal.

Also, finally gave the dog-leg can opener a try.  Being that it's the first time I've used this kind of can opener, I'm happy that I was able to at least get started.  Definitely need more practice as I'm not sure I should have that jagged of an edge.

It was good to see some interesting Wengers today.  Speaking of can openers.... I think the only satisfactory multi-tool can opener that I have used lately is Leatherman.  I would hope that our friend Aztec would give one of the claw type openers on a Wenger a try and report on it.  It looks like the old Z-type opener is doing a really rough job.  Probably not worse than the combo tool on Victorinox.  That one is really the pits.  Did any of you ever see the strange can opener that used to come on Camillus/Camco knives from the 1940's?  I couldn't figure out how in the world to use one when I saw my first one.  Looked like something was missing.  I finally figured it out.  An old man who had one he had bought in the army said it worked great.  I had one of the old relics, but never used the can opener.  At least that's how I remember it.  Might be wrong.
I enjoyed seeing the photos.  I might do a Three Layer Thursday post tomorrow.  Might be fun.  Dig some triple deckers out and let's get some pix.  Best wishes.  G

@IMR4198, I had to look up one of those can openers.  That's pretty strange indeed.  I've used the claw type can opener but never from a Wenger.  I'll give it a try soon.

There's definitely some good looking Wengers in here.  And those boxes are in pretty good shape.

Happy Wenger Wednesday.  If you have a photogenic Wenger, today is the day.  Steady rain outside.  Outdoor chores will have to wait.  I just got a knife catalog and looked over the items.  Lots of high-priced flipper/clippers made by companies I never heard of.  Yawn.  I started to take a picture of a page but saw that any such reproduction of any single part of this rag was strictly verboten.  Decided to do a photo of a Wenger with some coffee.  Best wishes.  G

Glad to see the Wednesday focus.  I cannot participate since I have no Wenger items.  Happy posting to all.

Wengers, no Wengers, we don't care.  I might cook some macaroni after while.  You are welcome to stay.  I looked for another pack of those little K-cup coffee thingies.  Haven't seen it since I brought it home.  The only thing I can figure is that somebody must have broken in and taken it.  They cleverly took just my coffee and left all the other relatively worthless things.  Probably figured that I might involve law enforcement if some of my pocky knives got lost.  Somehow they must have locked the house back up afterward.  I wonder if they left electronic surveillance devices?  It could happen.  Then just pocketed my individual coffee units on the way out.  Diabolical.  Best wishes.  G

Can't go wrong with Wengers and coffee.

I like mac and cheese but I prefer sweet iced tea.  :D

Sorry for your loss.  I hate it when things like that happen.  Similar to my factory Trekker (phillips and serrated blade) that has gone missing.  Must have been selectively chosen.

Hope all goes well

I would look for electronic surveillance devices, if I were you.  I decided to leave whatever devices they planted, so they could listen to me.  Worst possible punishment I could subject them to.  That reminds me.... it's time to sing a while.  Best wishes.  G
