Congratulations on the new place!!! Just saw the pictures today, it doesn't work on an iPhone.
I love the way the houses look in America (Although I think our brick houses are more sturdy). I like the porch very much, I can see myself sitting there at night. Oh sorry, see YOU sitting there at night.
Love to see pictures when you've put in all the furniture!

I love these style homes, so much character.  I bought a mass produced home and while new it had no panache.  I dig the arch ways inside the home and the RED doors.  I would love a stand alone garage for just getting away.  I am so happy for you both Lynn and even better that you will have some nice neighbors without the drama.

We moved all the furniture yesterday. The only think remaining in the old place are a few odds and ends.

Because it was a Thursday, most of our friends couldn't show up, but the weather wasn't too hot (86F, 30C) and the humidity was surprisingly low, around 50%, which is utterly shocking for summer in St. Louis.

Almost done.

Almost...

Almost done.  I've been telling myself that about unpacking since my last move, almost four years ago now..... ::)

While moving stuff, I came across a box we hadn't unpacked since moving to our previous house 5 years ago. So, I know that feeling all too well. :D

I'm pretty sure there are multiple boxes in our storage room that have not been unpacked since we moved to Spain over 10 years ago.

I keep meaning to do some heavy duty purging of stuff that we don't need/aren't worth keeping.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

If that had been us, it would likely be an unopened box, ready for the next trash pick up.  >:D

We had a bunch of stuff at the old house we had to get rid of, so we rented a dumpster. The unpacked box did, indeed, take a dumpster dive. If it didn't get opened in 5 years, whatever was inside wasn't exactly necessary.:D

I've just recently put aside some BNC network cables, cards and accessories to take for recycling... I haven't used any of it since I lived in BC in 2000...

I remember seeing the tool anxiety thread in General, so did all the tools transfer to their new dwellings alright?

Hope you like your new place, the big-let-down neighbor story was kinda funny.

I had to run off to Ohio for a few days. My sister was recovering from surgery, and seemed like she could use cheering up. I'm back now, with my nephew (18 year old) in tow. He'll stay for a few days then I'll take him home and come back.

So... No. Not all unpacked. But there aren't many things left to do. just a few boxes. Then it'll be on to getting the garage in order, which is a pretty major task.

All our tools are now in the Garage, if not precisely orderly. :D At least it;s a lot better than them strewn across the house and taking up half the kitchen cabinets.
