Lol! No, not into licking toads. Funny thing is, this toad has been around for a few years. I pretty sure it is the same one. Always hangs around in the shop and likes to get petted. Weird. If it shows up again next year, I just might have to give it a name.

I am still on a cheap point-and-shoot, but I should have the zoo layout memorized once I get my new camera.

anyway went back to the zoo today, and here are some pics.

first, anyone know what these are? they are very small, and look similar to a tick. I touched this post and suddenly had 10 or 12 of these on my hand. I did not feel them, my son pointed it out. got them off within 10 seconds of contact, and checked myself and my son good, no stragglers.

This swan was HUGE and these pictures were taken from only a meter away! BIG BIRD!

This guy saw his reflection and was rather funny to watch

umm, new use for paracord!! well played zoo, another good use for paracord.

it is funny to me that the point-and-shoot with 4x optical zoom, when zoomed in, still seems smaller than what my eyes see

I believe they are aphids...but could be wrong on that one. If so, harmless to all except to vegetation.

I think you are right on the aphids, I have only ever seen green ones, but a quick image search, and it looks the same! now I do not have to worry about ticks in the hair.

I like hunting dragonflies (with a camera).

Currently there are 39 species in my collection, all shot within 10 km (approx 6.5 mi) of my home.
