Any terrible faults, or annoying quirks ???, had any warrenty or other niggle's ???

Or do you want to hold it aloft and preach it's name to all who'll listen :D

So please share your opinions with me :)

Sorry to disappoint, but you aren't going to find any faults with it.

It does exactly what it says on the tin, it's big, bad and ugly. There's no compromise on function to make it look pretty or for gimmicks - it just works.

I use mine a hell of a lot - mostly in the garden.

You might want to consider getting the removable bit driver too, which connects to the cross-point screwdriver. There ain't much you aren't going to be able to handle then.

You'll like it ;)

I used to come here a lot.

Thanks mate, I'm hoping it'll be similarly heavy duty as my Swisstool's are :), I've still got one or two little concernes over the blade length (it's technically illegal because of the locks anyway, but I prefer a overall blade length to be 76mm or under :-\) but seeing as it'll be rucksack edc, and I cycle everwhere anyway, I should get away with it if searched :)

I'm at work atm - so can't check the blade length, but it is a bit of a monster. It's very much in the style of the Kick, Fuse and Blast blades, as opposed to the Wave / Charge blades.

The serrated blade on the core is a very scary tool indeed. Cuts through marine quality 3-ply rope like the proverbial hot knife through butter.

I haven't found a branch or plant in my garden yet that's fair competition for the saw, and the screw drivers are all hollow-ground and the sizes are well thought out too.

I know some may see this as sacrilege, but IMO if it had scissors, it would blow the Surge out of the water.

If there's one down-side, it's the lack of the diamond file (it has something a bit more heavy duty), but I rarely use the file, so that doesn't concern me.

I used to come here a lot.

I think you will be impressed with your new Core. I 've had one for a couple of months and placed it in my carry rotation with 2 Swisstools and my Surge. I am a fan of the big robust tools and the Core has filled this bill quite nicely. If they just made a high quality leather sheath it would be perfect!  :multi:

The sheath (whether leather or nylon) may well disappoint you. It's been discussed in these forums before that LM sheaths are not what they used ot be. The leather one is a bit more rubbish than the nylon IMO, but it might be worth your while getting one of the LM Molle sheaths. You can pick them up for well under a tenner (inc P&P) from ebay.

I'll actually be bringing one along to the meet (in fact I'll be bringing all my sheaths) so you can have a look-see then if you like.

I used to come here a lot.

You know my opinions on the Core Mike, its a damn good tool. About the sheaths, I have a Nylon and a Leather one (as I have a backup Core). The Nylon one is very wide and the leather one is just like the Blast's. I think the Nylon one looks the better out the two, but it is very big! Expect the tool to come very close to the Swisstool, but not on the pouches side of things :)

I justdon't think it's a good idea to have an MT hanging off your belt in this day and age (at least in the UK) so sticking it in a rucksack, with a Farmer in my pocket is really suiting me :)

Right....  I have tried the Core in 2 Swisstool Nylon pouches and on one of the pouches it just doesn't fit in, but the other it does manage to just slide in. With the Leather pouches it is an extremely tight fit. You could probably fit it in one that has stretched a little, but overall, it is too tight of a fit.

Yeah, very true, you're asking for it having a multitool on your belt in the UK. I think its just as convenient having one in your pocket.

I don't think I'd worry too much, if it really is of shocking quality then I'll just re-enforce it with paracord and gaffa tape :D

I really like the CORE!! It is very similar to the SURGE, but it has much better drivers. It is IMO the best working MT there is. Every implement is meant for one thing- to work well!
