Vic Harvester with Sheep foot blade mod help?

I was wondering if anybody has done this mod before? I want to remove the bottle opener from my harvester and replace it with the electrician sheep foot blade. Does anybody know if this is a straight swap or if I will need to do some grinding of the spring? I may also add a key ring from a pioneer...

This is kinda what I'm going for...
Ive just sat the harvester on top of the electrician but you get the idea.

Nope it wont work on the spring.  The end that has the bottle opener has a short pivot end and if you put the eblade on there it will sit too low and hit the spring in the middle and chip the blade.  Tried it :D   The nail nick is also on the wrong side for that position.

If I put a pruner / eblade in one layer I take a blade spring and grind it down to the thickness of an opener spring and do it that way.  Ive put that as in inner layer before that makes it less awkward to get to the nail nicks, but its still not ideal.

If you can lose the awl though the eblade fits there great.

Here's what I came up with!







I still have to peen the Pioneer I scavenged the key ring from, the electrician scales were ruined as my drill slipped  :facepalm: so since I have a spare blade spring now, I may grind it down to get the awl back, that and some of the pivots that Syph uses and it will be 100% what I wanted. But for now I think it didn't go too bad.  :D

We have the same taste.  Did you surface grind the blade spring?  That was the hardest part for me.

I haven't ground the blade spring yet, but it is something that I want do in the future.
