Plus I'm most of the way to an EDC plunger. I wear carpenter jeans. I'll keep it in my hammer loop.

:worthless:

Also, is that a threat or a promise. Just curious how you will use a Classic as hammer...

No...I'm disillusioned with puns. I recently entered 10 puns in a punning competition, thinking it would improve my chances of winning...but no pun in ten did.

There was the guy throwing rocks at all the seagulls. He was determined to leave no tern unstoned.

Then there was the magician walking down the street who turned into a doorway.

Sign on the ship builder's door: "Out to Launch"

Sign on the sheriff's door: "Out to Lynch"

Sign on the scientist's door: "Gone Fission"

Is a cat leaning to one side a catalyst?

A real roller coaster this week. Not work related, mostly. All is well.

Days 5 and 6 were super boring. I cut a bunch of paper, some toenails, some finger-type nails, and no other kind of nails. I've been using the toothpick quite a bit, which also means I've been washing the toothpick and its slot quite a bit.

Day 7
I'm doing the theatre thing again, so I've been driving a lot from town to city to make rehearsals. I've also been spending a lot of time in a friend's closet.
It's not as bad as it sounds. The closet is so big it has its own closet. I'm totally serious.
Anyway, apart from boring normals (cutting clothing tags, opening a blister-packed computer-type mouse), I did two neat things. One of them involved hot rodent murder. The other involved actual blood.
I'll start with the actual blood -- I managed to put a nice, gushing cut on the pad of my thumb. Little Mac is, apparently, a biter. This is basically why I carry a small first aid kit in my satchel.
As for the hot rodent murder, a friend (the one whose closet I'm staying in on some rehearsal nights) had a mouse problem. Specifically, the mouse problem was a problem mouse. It was smart and careful enough to steal the bait right off her traps, which meant it was a fat bloody mouse by the time I saw it crawl under the closet door, stare me in the face, and quickly haul its fat ass back out. Not that being well fed with peanut butter bait was enough to keep it from destroying things in her house. It was a jerk mouse. Like the Greg House of mice or something.
So, how do you catch a mouse who knows how to pick off a trap? Easy! Increase the sensitivity of the trap.

Bendy bendy bendy!

It worked. I'm not including a picture of the mouse, because I'm not a crazy person. Well, not that kind of crazy person.

Days 8 and 9 were also boring. Lots of work, but all of it small. Opened a new Fitbit. I've been using Little Mac for an awful lot of cutting at school. The kids are suitably impressed with its durability. They hate the colour.

Day 10!
Okay, let's do the Rubric Red thing: IT IS HAMMER TIME
I found a chunk of wood lying around, and decided it wasn't enough chunks of wood. Little Mac agreed.

Little Mac, agreeing.

It was totally batoning time. Why would anyone baton, like, ever? Emergencies, I suppose. Or dumbiosity. I think I'm the second one.

ACTION SHOT BAM POW!

That photo caption needed more BBcode tags in it than I care to relive.
I had to keep the tip of the blade pointed slightly up, while holding the handle in such a way as to not let it close up. It was tricky. Also, it took much more force than I expected to make the blade go. This was especially true in the part covered with the old glue.

A stick-y situation. Hurr hurr hurr!

Things got a lot faster after Little Mac got past the glued part. This may be because he was trying to get away from that awful glue pun under that last picture.

This is looking good.

Not only did Little Mac succeed...

Succeeding!

...but the blade didn't take any damage at all.

Damage: none. At all. Sawdust, however, is yes.

I decided that while Mac was on a role, it was time for MOAR HAMMAR!!!1![/colour]

Oh my, yes. That it what it looks like.

It wasn't a very hard chiseling job, but someone had to do it.
Just kidding! No-one had to do it! But it's worth noting that neither the nailfile/driver or the scales or liners at the Bonking End took any damage at all. Granted, it wasn't a knurled hammer, but not all hammers can be winners.

Day 11...
...in which Little Mac cannot reasonably open a larger and thicker can!

The combined efforts of Chef and Boyardee are too much for Little Mac.

I may try this again near the end of the challenge using the knife blade, but after seeing how badly a regular can dulled Etherealicer's Classic blade, I'm going to wait until closer to the finish line.
Still, I got a full day of regular use out of the tool, so all is good.

Lil Mac has been busy...

Ok, hammering him, was that really necessary?
The blade did not take that much damage when cutting open a can, at least nothing a bit of resharpening can't undo.

I know you may be tempted but I would not do this to Rogueneer.

Just because it is a 58mm also does not mean you need to abuse it.

This gave me a great idea.

When this challenge is over we should get all the Roguneers together for a group photo.  :tu:
