I respect a band who takes a shot and tries out a new sound sometimes. I know this might be an unpopular view that I have but I applaud Metallica for taking a direction change that they did with Load/Reload/St. Anger. ...And Justice turned a little bit away from the thrash of Kill em, Lighting and Puppets and then they went for the more groove oriented stuff a la Pantera on the Black Album.
I didn't mind this either.  I actually enjoyed their change and have liked all their albums.

She's not bad but she's ultralight for my taste. With 20 pounds distributed on certain places of her body, I could marry her. I would forbid her to sing inside the house then though.

Name your favourite Iron Maiden song:

Everyone seems to like Maiden.

My favourite of theirs is 'Hallowed Be Thy Name'.

Through 23 years and countless listens, it's still exciting and monumental.

Beginning quietly with a gentle riff, Bruce Dickinson (at his finest) singing Steve Harris' lyrics (best ever IMO) becomes the condemned man, waiting for his own execution. The song slowly builds with Bruce and the guitars taking it in turns to raise the tension. The song explodes into an amazing crescendo of dual guitars and soloing that still sends shivers up my spine.

If you haven't heard it already - what are you waiting for?

What's your favourite Maiden song?

2 Minutes to Midnight. I'm not sure what it is about the song but everything clicks on the whole.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I might be crazy but it's kept me from going insane- Waylon Jennings

2 Minutes to Midnight. I'm not sure what it is about the song but everything clicks on the whole.

From Wiki:

The song title references the Doomsday Clock, the symbolic clock used by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, which represents a countdown to potential global catastrophe. In September 1953 the clock reached 2 Minutes to Midnight, the closest it ever got to midnight, when the United States and Soviet Union tested H-bombs within nine months of one another. According to Dickinson, the song critically addresses "the romance of war" in general rather than the Cold War in particular.

Great choice BTW  :salute:

That was it with Iron Maiden? Just 4 people. Alright, 4 but lions, the rest of you are free to listen to Avril Lavigne as much as you wish

What about some MOTORHEAD?!?!?!

Which one is your favourite Motorhead song? I'll tell you mine later, im fact it is my personal anthem.

I have to go with the obvious 'Ace of Spades' but it's got everything that makes Motorhead so great. Monster bass riff, dangerous lyrics delivered at breakneck speed while straddling the borders between punk, metal and rock n roll, all sat astride the Tyrannosaurus roar of Lemmys vocals

It's like a dinosaur with a mohican riding a souped up lawnmower over a cliff while on fire.

You got it right. Did you know Lemmy taught Sid Vicious to play the bass (he was obviously a bad student, or too stoned to make much progress). No wonder they have Punk attitudes.

Ha, I didn't know that! That seems like Bruce Dickinson teaching Baby Spice to sing!

I would like to hear Motorhead without the guitars, just Lemmy's bass, because I think they could get away with it. A sort of reverse White Stripes.

Lemmy and Geddy Lee made the Rickenbacker bass a thing of beauty.

Good vid!

I was watching a live performance of 'Hallowed Be Thy Name a couple of nights ago, and re-appreciating Steve Harris' contribution to the Maiden sound. It's a solid bedrock for the guitars to jump from.

Geezer Butler is another great  - the only song where he's allowed full flight is 'Wishing Well' from the brilliant 'Heaven and Hell' album. An underrated song IMO, but if you listen to his basslines they are magical.

That's it, we are the two last standing, Madonna succeeded in her vicious plan to simplify, sillify and destroy the world of modern music.
My favourite and personal anthem, the one I sing in my mind when feeling under pressure and tired by the realities and obligations of life, is the one that follows. I remind myself that I ain't gonna be easy, the only time I'm gonna be easy is when I'm...

I do believe I belong in this club.

Mmm.... Steppenwolf, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica, Uhh... others... many others.

Nowadays I'm more wandering into the styles spawned by Heavy Metal with stuff like Disturbed/Device, Within Temptation, Godsmack, Tyr, etc...

The constant evolution and progression of metal is one of the many aspects that keeps me interested after 40 years.

Make some suggestions for us to listen to, I'm always ready for some more metal!

What about ZBlue Oyster Cult? More Hard Rock than Heavy Metal but it is one of the moste talented, artistic and influential bands. It is hard to choose just one song but what about Cities on Flame (with Rock n' Roll)?
