Gerber multitool unknown.
on: October 25, 2015, 09:00:22 AM
good morning,
some weeks ago I bought a gerber multitool but, although I've tried to find information I have not seen any similar in any forum of cutlery and multitool.
Could someone help identify this gerber?
Thank you.

Sorry, that's no Gerber  :-\

I've also thought, but I find it strange because it is a quality tool.
The multitool more like I've found is the Ganzo G103, although morphologically diverse.
I read once gerber it manufactured for the army but they were not available to retail,
could this be?

Sadly no, like 50ft said, it's just a knockoff; Ganzo makes a ton of variations of that same pattern, for various places.

[Edit:  Just because something is a knockoff doesn't mean it can't be quality; just most of the time it isn't.  Just watch out for the Phillips screwdriver, it tends to be the weak point for most cheap tools... and some expensive ones. :)]

Perhaps we need a fake posting spot
I am sure we all have them and they are somewhat interesting

Ever notice how there doesn't appear to be few if any Leatherman branded fakes, and yet, it is open season on Gerber.

It's the Stanley Multitool exactly (with a Gerber style can opener).  I actually have one of these, the pliers are great but the weak "backspring" makes the handle drivers useless.

Leatherman's QC has only just dropped to the point where poor quality knock offs may be feasible for counterfeiters to sell, whereas Gerber ...  ;)

I didn't take any chances with my Gerbers. I paid a little extra but each was New In Package. No fakes in my collection :salute:

Gotta love how they threw the BG on there but didn't bother to copy the BG series color scheme.
