Stuff you regret having sold?

Are there things you regret you sold at some point?  :think:

I had a number of such cases which taught me to think before selling ......

Therefore, there are a number of things I bought again later.

For example, I've bought, sold, bought, sold, bough a number of Olight i3/i3ses.

Same with Fenix E01s.

Squirt PS4s.

Maxpedition Organizers.

Maglite Solitaire :facepalm:

Today I'm thinking I shouldn't have sold my Opinel 7 with neon green handle and I'm thinking of buying another one, maybe in a different colour.

So, I bet this has happened to you too, what things have you sold, regretted and bought again? :D

Now when I decide I don't want/need something or that I'm sick of something... I just leave it in the box and take another piece of EDC for variety. I've decided not to sell more stuff and try to imagine how I'd feel without this piece of gear after some time and if I wouldn't need it again if I sold it.

Do you have these EDC/MTO-crisis moments? :D

I buy Leatherman Micras but always end up giving them away. Mostly to ladies. :D They like the scissors, tweezers and nail file so I´m often without and then I miss them and order new ones.

There have been a few guitars that I've regretted selling over the years but no MT's yet.

Some firearms in the past but in all honesty, if I had kept them, there is a good chance they would have been lost in the fire anyway.....

My only regret is having to sell my Thinline Telecaster when we had no money. It got us through a difficult patch though, but I have never been able to afford to replace it.

It was a lovely guitar and my only electric through the 8 years or so I played in bands. I still miss it, but am glad it helped us through a tough time.

Lots of people have worse times and have to go without much more than me so I consider myself a very lucky man.

I have sold a lot of my mt's because they did not meet my expectations.
But i have not regretted selling any of them.

For me it is more like : stuff you regret having bought. I should have bought my Swisstool X as my first and last MT, not all the other leatherman's i've had. But i had a fun time trying all those tools and reading all those reviews. Unfourtanly it did probably cost me around 200 euros which i lost reselling those tools. :facepalm:

Yeah, it does cost you a lot when you resell stuff, but on the other hand, I take it as a "fee/price" you pay for having owned & enjoyed the tools before :D You can spend on a few coffees which you see once and then they're gone, lol, or you can spend on having & playing with a tool which later you sell and it's gone, too :D

I've regretted buying stuff a few times, but don't tend to sell unless I'm 100% happy to let it go....


... even if I do change my mind at a later date. Even then I don't regret the sale, I just track down another

I don't think I regret selling anything.

I've only had 2 tools I've gotten rid of and replaced, and I'm okay with that.

If I had the spare cash (which I don't), I wouldn't mind getting a Spirit X again, but I have no burning hurry for it. I already have one too many Waves, and just slightly prefer the Wave to the Spirit X.

I do have a number of tools I'm holding on too not out of need, but because I really think I might regret if i got rid of them. The Farmer comes to mind. Love it, have exactly 0 need for it.

There's been various degrees of buyer's and seller's remorse on a number of items. The big one was a Swiss  Pioneer bayonet with saw teeth. Sold it to an Army Engineer friend who took a liking to it, but there are times I wish I had held onto it. A replacement one would be too expensive ($250 - $300).

I don't remember, it was about two years ago .. but I think it was mostly when I was selling small stuff to raise money to buy sth  bigger  :think:

LOL. My exact situation with a Farmer.  I have a rule that non users are re-homed immediately.....except for the darn NIB Farmer I have.  Now I've got to get rid of it out of principle

I don't sell (so feel free to disqualify me from the thread) but I have always given away previous EDC SAKs after upgrading. Now it seems I would have done better to buy new Vic Woodsmans and Champions at the times they were readily available brand new.
EDC: SwissChamp, Swisstool X, Zippo, Mini Maglite, all on my belt. I'm one more sheath away from becoming Batman.

Was in a hard place so I had to sell my blackout :(. 1 of 50 #40. But would I do it again? Yes as it was to benefit my family. And family before tools.

Not really. They just look nicely vintage and I'm trying to move to a more "elegant style" in general, which will change my EDC too.
